Let's be very honest here: Had those who were disappointed with ME2 done this, people would have called everyone who participated out on it. It is essentially using children to get your response heard and it is kind of despicable when you really think about it. It's the perfect platform to launch a campaign because those who argue with you look insensitive to a child's plight because you're supporting an organization for children. When Al Sharpton called for Don Imus' job a few years ago, he couldn't get away with anything even though he holds a yearly event for children and he didn't do it on the spur of the moment like this seems to be. [Keep in mind that Sharpton (speaking as a black individual because I have to offer the disclaimer) doesn't do anything for anyone and is a veritable ambulance chaser for supposed "civil rights", but doesn't do anything to unify anyone.]
Had ME3's ending been to everyone's liking, Child's Play would not be getting the donations they are getting now. And if we get the ending's we're looking for, what happens to the donation stream? Does it just suddenly dry up?
I find myself in a very awkward situation as a result of this because helping children out is a good thing, but I don't want to help children in the name of getting a better ending from ME3 for myself. I'd rather help children because I want to help children. I may donate anyway, but this really doesn't make me feel good in the least.

I cannot speak for everyone, but me and a lot of people are basically sure few things will change. BUT? I was depessed for three days straight until I becane part of the movement. Now I am doing something good, chanelling my EPICRAGE into it.
And it also lets everyone see we are not just whining, we mean business. We are serious, not just buch of young girls pisssed about not getting to spend the rest of their days with imaginary turian dudes. But most of all, it's feeling good about doing something positive.
If you go over to the main thread, you will see that many people want to help kids first and then good endings second. And the more campaign goes on the more it's true

The reason why doesn't matter, I doubt the kids the money will benefit cares if it was done by gamers frustrated about the ending of a game or not.

I question this whole thing myself. It's great that a worthy cause is getting the funds, but the impetus for this is entirely selfish. From what I've read on the first two pages of this thread, this was done to put a positive on what people were calling a negative. In my own, subjective words, this is spin for those who are vocal about the ending.

Agree wholeheartedly.
Helping a charity - yes.
But as a way to back up my argument, to make my point look more noble than what it is, to give my argument some sort of a higher moral backup and support - definitely a huge no.
That's notwithstanding my actual opinion on the endings.

That being said, I contributed to the cause. It's nice to see people come together for something they feel passionate about, as well as to help others in need.

They are called fundraisers and typically raise awareness of like minded individuals to the issue of "so and so," however there is no charity for fixing ****ty endings to beloved games so giving sick kids a chance to enjoy some games/books/toys is a nice second choice.
