Precisely. While I think it a little unreasonable to ask for an "alternate" ending or the like (a little Powerpoint slideshow would have been fine by me), only good can come from this particular form of protest.

I just put in twenty dollars from my checking. I really hope that this gets attention, but I also hope that people don't become hateful over it. Though from I've seen I don't think that will be a problem.  Heck even if this doesn't really change anything at least I sent that money to people who need it more than I do.

You pretty much have it. It's a great way to help bring attention to the issue, and it really puts a damper on the negative (and mostly baseless) criticisms that call us "whiney", "entitled", and other various dismissive names.

The reciept clearly says that your payment goes directly to Child's Play, not through a third party.

While I do certainly agree I don't think we should do it in an obnoxcious "I told you so" manner.  I don't say that to sound preachy, but because you people are all better than that.  I know so because these donations prove it.
