I'm liking the game so far, but when I try to click right mouse button to scan with that ripple things - nothing happens - I've checked some videos of what's supposed to happen and well it definitely isnt happening for me. - Is there a way of forcing a bind for this command? - I can see it in the normal bindings menu
any help is much appreciated

Reset your key binds to default and restart the game.
I reassigned dodge to mouse buttons and could never scan, then I reverted to default. Problem solved.
I couldn't win without scanning, had to start over.
This is a consistent oversight in ME. I don't recall whether it was fixed in ME1 & 2 by BioWare or by fans or not at all. I do recall having to play with default key binds... which is difficult.
A problem with console games run on PC without platform specific scripting.
All they have to do is add a "scan" key bind.

thanks for your help - yeh somehow I didnt get the problem in ME2 (and I used the same binds) - I'll just have to do what you say and then after each 'scanning session' remap all the keys - yes it is very annoying - i tried searching coalesced.bin for a bind for it but could not
thanks again
thanks again

yep ME3 certainly seems to be the version most compromised by it's console brethren on PC - that weird post-processing type anti aliasing that consoles have to use (that causes weird ghosty edging and blurry textures) seemed to be on by default for a start.
However in fairness to them, at least the mouse speed bar actually seems to work in ME3 (it had to be edited in coalesced.ini in ME2)

I was having the exact same problem (I use RMB as move forward). It's already bad that you have to change keys for it to work, but having to restart is worse... not the first time an EA game borks this up (Dead space games didn't even allow me to reconfigure as I wanted)

You don't have to do a full restart or change all you key bindings. Just the 'Aim' feature. Then just save, go to main menu, and resume. Now, when changing back, let's say RMB to move forward, you don't need to even worry about exiting out. Only when changing Aim back to RMB for scanning.

Thanks Otaku that worked great. I can change my bind keys and explore the galaxy scanning planets. Then, I can change the bind key back and continue to play the game.

That seems... way to complicated to constantly go in and out to just scan. So far EA is the only company I've seen that has a fit when you change the mouse commands.
