interesting, cept teh whole EA hating bandwagon. It's tough to really know what happened - but i can speculate EA controls levels of marketing and deadlines, but do not control story content.

here's an interesting vid about pandemic from rise to eventual shutdown by EA, where it looks like EA plays a role in causing hiccups.

It's certainly an intriguing propostion and the WA play a larger role.

I dunno... I can already picture the Star Child replaced with Harbinger and some slight dialogue tweaks.

Sovereign did say: We impose order on the chaos of organic evolution.
And Harbinger said: Your species has the attention of those infinitely your greater.

The later quote clearly implying that Shepard had already then earned the respect of the reapers.(respect as in an enemy not to be underestimated)
Harbinger is also surprisingly absent from most of the game, and only appears in physical game form for like 30 seconds while you run the gauntlet.... just does not seem worth the effort to make a unique game model for such a brief appearance.

I've got a notepad with links to all these interesting threads about the ending. By the time I beat the game it will most likely be impossible to find them again so I figure I'd archive them for when I'm ready to read them.

I almost want to finish the game for the sake or reading these threads over actually just beating the game. I think I am prepared for a bad ending already so I might as well get excited about the articles over the ending of the game so I don't go crazy lol

I saw the leaks in november 2011, the endings were almost identical to what we got, except the dialogue was different. Harbinger had no dialogue whatsoever even in the leaks.

Damn...I thought that I was the only one who thought that the Reaper's motivation was to make sure no other AI/synthetic/life form could ever surpass them.
