I didn’t talk to him on the Citadel to avoid the confrontation all together. Changes the entire game. (end sarcasm)

I shot it like a boss as shown by like Skelter192.

It probably makes sense if you're playing an infiltrator to hit it, but I like Garrus so much I want it to be a special occasion for him. I missed on purpose when I did it, I was playing an adept so that made sense anyway.

Technically you could use any weapon type in ME1.  You just sucked with anything you didn't get the skill for. :P

I missed. Like the others, my Vanguard sucks with a sniper rifle. There's a reason she charges headlong into any combat with a shotgun and a manic grin -- sniping is for patient people. Not my Shep. :D I biotic charge and punch things in the face!

my main shep is best bros with garrus and respects him

so he took the shot (plus I was an infiltrator)

my vanguard missed though because he sucks with sniper rifles

I missed on purpose for Garrus cuz he's one of my favorite characters and figured he needed a good ol' ego boost for the final battle on Earth... not that he really needed it because he's one of the best characters in the game, but i thought, "what the heck?"

My Paragon Sheploo took the shot because Garrus has been a true bro, by my side since the beginning and knows we're equals.

This scene reminded me of Fight Club where Tyler was on the roof golfing. I missed on purpose to let Garrus have his moment.

You people say things about letting him win being the right thing for a friend to do, but Id hate to win something because someone else let me.
As if my infiltrator shepard would ever miss ANYTHING.

Garrus knows this and my infiltrator Shep has nothing to prove to him.  In my mind Garrus would appreciate the gesture of sandbagging and why Shepard did so.

Not saying either choice is wrong, just comes down to how you're playing your Shepard.

Missed on purpose on my paragon playthrough (finished that a few days ago), will probably shoot it if I can actually get through a renegade playthrough. I never have been able to before, and already went Paragon once...

Missed, the hit line is really lame, i liked it when Garrus went "My name is Garrus Vakarian, and THIS is my favourite place in the citidel". xd

That bronze is coming soon my friend.

But how come Adepts, Vanguards, all those biotic + tech classes can make that shot with no second thoughts? Heh. :P

Eh, my Adept, Engineer, and Sentinel regularly pop heads with a sniper rifle. I missed, though. :)

My Vanguard Shep had a bad experience with bottles once. None will ever escape his wrath.

I didn't like the concept of lying to him and faking the loss, when I could have shot it. But at the same time I did not want to one up him all the time and always seem like I'm better than you.

So I chose to miss. But I get it, I get the other case. Since, obivously, we're essentially going to die and lose by the end of it, I guess it would be a morale boost for a time.

shot it. We're bros and all but participating in a competition without giving it your all is nothing more than a lie. I wish Bioware had made a minigame out of it.

I hit the bottle. Garrus knows how good he is and Shep is, but if I'd thrown the shot he's have known it and wondered what else I might have fudged on with him, this would damage his confidence in himself and as a friend I could never do that to him.

This part is even better when you romance him. "There there, I know there are other things you're good at" Posted Image

Missed on purpose. Garrus is the sniper, while my guy is a Vanguard. So i just thought it was right for Garrus to win in a snipe out. Though if it was a shotgun challenge....
