So apparently you can now make money from "bad endings" on rpgs..interesting.

OP, THIS is why you need to edit the first post so that people understand ChipIn is handling the money and this is in no way going into somebody's pocket to just use as they please.

The money is going to hospitalized children. Nobody's "making money" off of the endings.

The Donations go to the Child's Play charity, we're just doing it in the name of a new ending. Because, quite frankly, if you think the ending is anygood then you need a CAT scan.

I don't have a problem with the donations, the OP's reasoning behind it is what is ridiculous to me though.

Elaborate on how it is "ridiculous".

We pay for a game that is the end of a franchise, something we expect to get, we did not. We are promised choices. Choices that matter. We get none of that. We get a ****ty ending to a franchise that thousands of people have people countless hours into(ME1, ME2) only to see these previous decisions basically mean nothing in the third installment.

At the very least, this will be a positive donation to a childrens organization, but if we could have more, that would be great.

you are intititled to your opinion and everyone should respect that and lets get off the that and back to the topic at hand before lock down for too much bickering lol Posted Image

Bickering is just another word for discussion, isn't that what this forum is for? As you say though, back on topic from now on.

Check out some of the comments in the thread over in the Story section. It's not about demanding a better ending or being entitled to a new one; it's about channeling the negative feelings towards the end of the game into positive ones by helping out others, as cheesy as it sounds. Would I like a different ending, or elaboration on the one that we got? Sure, but it's not why I donated.

Eh, 12K might not make much difference to Bioware or EA, but I bet it will to some poor kids stuck in hospitals for whatever reason. Keep up the good work. I chipped in a little too. Not much, but every bit counts.

....Can you edit the link to that in the first post? You may want to quote the 3rd post in that thread so that people in this topic understand this is a legit charity. In a couple more hours nobody is going to READ page 3 because thats just too much reading. They WILL read your first post, however. That's why I'm saying you need to edit it, Bawsee.

It's almost like you have no idea what you're talking about...oh wait

Protip: None of this money goes to Bioware, it goes to charity.

Seriously dude? Do you know what Child's Play is? It's a freaking charity. All proceeds go directly to children stuck in hospitals, not Bioware.

How amusing that you all decide to donate to charity when you don't get your dream ending with your virtual waifus/husbandus.

At this point this is amazing whether you agree with the endings or not

May want to edit the title too if possible, considering someone just donated Ten Thousand Dollars.

Yeah, I think that's the main reason why most are whining, but there are actually valid concerns regarding the ending.

I do agree that it does strike me as a bit bothersome that the charity came up in light of this, rather than prior. I think the principle of it makes me feel reluctant. However, at the same time I think it's better they channel their money to that than DLC, which IMO is downright greedy considering how much they needlessly took with previous DLC. I think that rather than falling into the DLC trap like Bioware would want if the ending some people got was any indicator, it'd be better to just do this, and tell Bioware that this is money better spent...on something other than waifus and husbandus. But then, I didn't buy the game so I don't have to worry about this regardless. Still, I think that its good they're putting their money to something other than just complaining about something they don't like, even if I'm a bit mixed about when this charity came up and about.

All the brouhaha aside?

It's a for a good cause. Unless you know, your using it to promote genocide or something-to dis 10 g to a charity goes beyond trolling and nosedives you into real life a-hole.

10g to sick kids? Awesome!  I don't care if it's the "Make Boo a playable character nowz!" movement.

I think what they're doing is making signatures to show to bioware, but pitching in money for the charity to bring focus to two different causes at the same time. Frankly, they don't have a whole lot of numbers, but they're much more successful at raising money for the other cause.
