Lets make this perfectly and undeniably clear: the Mass Effect series in its vast majority is a fantastic experience. There are no second guesses that the team that developed them, (changing and updating as they are) have some definite knowhow of how to make a fantastic story and get you to stick to it, invest in it and genuinly care about it all and its been one hell of a ride

That said, the overwhelming number of people who are so opposed to the railroaded endings of the third and final blockbuster of the series, should not ever be a group that is marginalised or arbitrarily brushed off, I quote

EXPERIENCE THE BEGINNING, MIDDLE, AND END OF AN EMOTIONAL STORY UNLIKE ANY OTHER, WHERE THE DECISIONS YOU MAKE COMPLETELY SHAPE YOUR EXPERIENCE AND OUTCOME.”  as seen on the official Bioware site. these people are angry that they didn't get what was officially advertised... NOT because they didn't get a happy ending.

there are plenty of people out there and topics out there that can debate how nonsensical and infuriating the endings are and how they do anything but live up to the bar of the rest of the series.  (yes, each and every one of them due to how much sheer common ground they have and the 5 minute build up they get, not the 100+ hours worth of context that should have had some connection but didn't)

It has prompted some undeniably interesting theories and discussions, and you don't have to have me quote you links for you to find them. They're right out there and there are spiels, miles long about theories and possibilities. Indoctrination to hallucination to reaper AI spinning the possible outcomes to achieve what they want rather than the best choice.

This is something that I do encourage but I believe its only there because of serious dissatisfaction and a complete and utter rejection of the half baked and vague ending that was delivered to us. Like i've commented elsewhere on the personal favorite theory that has been put forward

"I'd like to buy into the indoctrination idea and the more I think about it the more it feels like it should be applicable. but here's the problem, the indoctrination theory succeeds to convince in a lot of cases not primarily because its a solid theory (it certainly is solid) but because of the sheer lack of options and willingness of anyone with critical assessment skills to accept the rediculously one dimensional and vague endings that are plastered out for us."

But merely to repost and restart a topic that is being done so well elsewhere is not the intended purpose of this new topic.

Its the fact that I am incredibly concerned that developer opinion will slide in favour that this kind of discussion is what that intended for all along, a controversial, remembered and talked about ending.

I've heard it said that not all attention is good attention, personal favorite on the same vein of thought was a comment about memorable food poisoning on this very forum.

I suppose I go about this with the goal to show, with no doubt that fan outrage and generation of wild and wonderful theories is a response to what will always be in the eyes of what seems to be a rediculously large factor of the audiance that the delivery of the ending of the series was far from what it deserved, and far from satisfactory in terms of the sheer quality and is fast becoming an undeniable blight on its otherwise near stellar performance.

has a response that entails a brief reasoning for why the ending was handled the way it was...
So it can be discussed? does this entitle the producers to shell out cop out endings? help me out here!

I can't put it more succinctly than other have, by far, I'm not that well spoken, tend to ramble, but when my words fail, someone elses succeeds

Unigolyn's response to an external article, reposted by Tsantilas at http://social.biowar...5/index/9877164 says it to nigh perfection in response to the beating that this outcry is taking. from self-elevated over-entitled whiners to cravers of disney level happy endings, I could not have phrased a better response than this.

"We are not asking for a Disney ending. We are not asking for a dance party with Ewoks. We are just asking for our Big Damn Heroes to go out on their own terms, win or lose." Unigolyn

I'd advise reading it in depth, I for one cannot express how thoroughly I agree.

the ending is not going to be talked about because its interesting, its going to to be talked about because of how much of a screwed up mess it was.

Balls in your court peoples, what do you think?
hope its not as unintelligible as the closing chapter of the series.

Join me and others in HOLDING THE LINE.
make it stronger if you wish.
