I got into the series a month ago ( PS3 owner so yea )

Got the 1st one for my bros xbox
Got the 2nd along with all dlc for PS3 and did everything
Just beat ME3 today on PS3

and the ending completely 100% destroys everything ME was

1. Reapers were created to kill organics from being destroyed by other synthetics , What happened to "We simply are"
2. Stupid Kid , The dreams were bad enough
3. Harbinger did nothing
4. Mass Relays destroyed so no species will ever see each other
5. Shepard and crew starve to death on random planet and the fleet starves on the messed up earth

I was so attached to the universe , I can't imagine how bad I would feel If I waited years for each sequel to come out only for the 5 year journey end like this .

How is it even possible to make such a horrid ending . I couldn't even imagine something this bad .  Nothing you did before in the ME trilogy mattered what so ever.

There should have been 5 very different endings with the current ones removed!!

The rest of the game was perfect , just needed more diverse squadmates.

Like getting sucker-punched in the gut, then spat upon in the face. Wind knocked out of you. Denial first, then confused anger. You feel betrayed, like 5 years--with all its time, emotions, and money invested--were stolen from you. You realize you were lied to, misled, deceived...and something that was a part of your life has been taken away and mutated into some husk-like creature, and you may never get it back.

Some people just get angry and leave. Others--and there are many--fight back, because the idea that it would all just be thrown away like this is too much to bear. Because as this universe has become a part of our lives, we have become a part of that universe. We invested our time and emotions and ideas into it. We helped BW develop this universe, lent our ideas and poured our souls into it, agonized over decisions, contemplated it for hours at a time as we developed our understanding and immersed ourselves in the lore. It was a symbiosis not many universes can lay claim to. So it's like having a part of yourself thrown away and cheapened, too.

Might as well get used to it; the game hasn't even launched in all markets yet.  As more and more people complete the game, the numbers will swell and people will voice their dissatisfaction.  Bunker down and hang on for the ride.

I remember when I was only 15 hearing about Mass Effect at E3 2006 such an exciting moment to finally have a good Sci fi game. I found the endings okay, plus I didn't get the ending most did. Also this is in the wrong area (it is suppose to be a spoiler free section) :P

But dreaming about how your ending should be makes sense lol.To be honest the imagination is most likely going to figure out how it should have ended and what happens next according to each people like..i mean it doesnt matter how good BW could make the ending the fact is not everyone was going to be happy especially because is the end of Shepard trilogy the same random guy that we meet in ME1.

I've been part of Mass Effect since day one 2007. I have collector's Edition of all 3. I've not beaten ME3 yet and when I say I am worried about the ending you can believe me when i say I am really worried ...

I enjoyed the ending. I felt it was good enough end to the trilogy (personally).

Such is life, people can feel differently about things.

I started a few months in from the ME1 release date (when I first got my 360, ME was the first game I got), and it does hurt.

I am in the same boat as you. I'm horrified. I'm attempting to complete the rest of the game as thoroughly as I can (as I've always done) without getting caught up in the hysterics, but it's very hard not to as a die-hard fan (and financially committed one!) of the series WITH access to XBL Gold. I am very disappointed that this is what my several hundreds of dollars spent has yielded.

Someone seriously has got to count the number of threads about how bad the endings are and how they ruined the game, it's got to be almost 100 threads if not more.

I don't get why people can't condense their complaints on to one large thread, wouldn't that be more effective in getting your point across too?

edit: THIS IS A NO SPOLIER SECTION OF THE FORUMS also.

Delete this thread please moderators....

Bought Mass Effect day 1 for Xbox.
Bought Mass Effect 2 day 1 for Xbox. Played all DLC.
Bought Mass Effect 1+2 for PC. Beat them again along with all DLC.
Bought Mass Effect 3 day 1 for PS3 plus the damned Prothean content.
(and I just bought Mass Effect 2 for the PS3 so the Wife will play the series...)

I feel I've given Bioware enough of my money to have formed a valid opinion:

...Having watched the series evolve (devolve more likely) from "RPG in Space" to "Third Person Shooter with Conversation"... With the addition of paid Day 1 DLC ( a deadhorse, I know) and Multiplayer (MP!?!)... The Endings come as no surprise.

Regardless, the series was amazing. I loved it. What I don't love, and can no longer support, is the ultra-capitalist approach by the EA/Bioware Borg Hivemind (The final screen is an advert for future DLC ffs!). Attempting to appeal to the Call of Duty crowd is one thing... but thinning your resources out to the point where a satisfying ending is impossible, due to the shoehorning of Kinect and Multiplayer into the budget, is beyond redeemable. I can live with downer endings but wth is the proper Epilogue!? The game was still great... I just wish they'd have delayed a little longer to finish it right.

* If an Epilogue, or an ending, appears in the form of paid DLC... W O W !

I can only "IMAGINE"..mm why you dont use to get your "proper" ending? Maybe is a lot better just use the theme song from ME3 and close your eyes there you go.The best part "Its Free"

I got into Mass Effect during the Christmas 2010 sale on Steam. I saw that ME1/ME2 were on sale for $9.99 each (yes I bought them during that sale). I remembered playing the ME2 demo a few months earlier, and completely forgetting about the game. So I jumped in and bought them. I even bought the DLC. I paid more for ME2's DLC than I did for both ME1 and ME2 combined.

ME3 is the first Mass Effect game that I've anticipated, followed, and bought full price, also the first collector's edition I have ever purchased (DDE, but still $20 more than the standard edition).

Seeing my choices from the previous games all end with the same result in ME3 is really devastating.

My all-time favorite game franchise was ruined. Battlefield. Started with 1942 when it released in 2002, enjoyed Vietnam, BF2, and 2142. Didn't like the Bad Company games, and I also wasn't impressed with Battlefield 3, though I still play it today because what little bit of a social life I have exists because of it.

I've stuck with the franchise ever since, even though it seems like the games are getting worse.

So I can imagine the disappointment that you guys who've been with Mass Effect since day 1 are feeling.

It feels like I don't want to play it because I don't want to see the inevitably cruel and unfulfilling ending. I have tried to avoid spoilers, but I've heard enough to know I don't want to experience all my hard work and character investment go to s**t.

I'm just going to play ME1 instead for the millionth time--maybe I'll let Ash live this time :)

Naw.

Bought an XBOX 360 for Mass Effect in 2007. Picked up ME2 on Midnight release and played the hell out of both games. Made N7 Armor and went to the midnight release of ME3 and took the day off work to play. Finished ME3. What a let down to an amazing Universe. Made no frakking sense what so ever.

Why I hated it so much is that it did not deliver on the promise they made through the entire series and that was your decisions shape how the story will end. In the end, it was taken from us and it was Horrible.

I've been a loyal fan of BioWare and an obsessed fan of ME, but now I find myself aimless in Sci-Fi. What re-ignited my love for Sci-Fi has also killed it for me. This franchise had so much promise......

At this point, do even major spoilers matter?

Nothing you do within any of the three games has any impact on anything.
