Maybe its just me, but the romance with Leliana, from beginning to end just felt anticlimatic.   I am wondering if I did something wrong, and missed something along the way.

1.  Had her join my party, kept her with me adventuring almost 100% of the time.  Spoke to her about herself, past, her stories etc.
2.  Had the encounter with the Orlaisian assassins, then later tracked down Marjolaine for her; then followed up with talks about how she felt about it.
3.  Then she sleeps with my character...and from then on...the conversation is always the same
   a) ask her to go to bed, and she replies she thought I would never ask ; or B) ask her to repeat some of her stories.
There is the time that Wynn councils me, that I should break up with her, to save both of us some pain (and I ignore her)

The only other change of routine that I can recall is:
1)  When I flirt with Isabella and suggest she goes with me to someplace private, to negotiate the price of being taught Duelist, Leliana interupts and forbids it.
2) Before entering the gates of Denerim to hunt down the archdemon and his generals, and all your companions speak to you, she mentions that she loves me.  But even with Leliana as my romantic interest, Morrigan's comments about being sad if my character died was far more touching.
3) After the archdemon was slain, and you spoke to your companions for the last time, she agreed to go with you whereever you went, and it was mentioned in the epilogue.

I am surprised there was no reaction or comment from her whatsoever when Morrigan and my character got together in his bedroom before the last battle, to conceive the future godchild.  She had no thoughts on that to share?  I mean...you would have expected that when your meeting with Riorden and Alistair was over, Leliana should have been the one waiting in your bedroom.  And if not....there should be some explanation.

So...while it seems that my character "sucessfully" romanced Leliana, it seems rather hollow.  Nothing compared to the BG romances.  And even the Morrigan romance, and then her breakup seemed to mean more.

My first playthrough I completely romanced them both. I never got the confrontation or the glares during kissing other people mentioned.

Morrigan's romance is just a lot more touching and rewarding towards the end of the game too me as well.

I didn't even get a gift from her, which is weird since apparently all of the other romances give you a gift of some sort. It does feel like there's a scene missing.

Which is too bad, as everything leading up to it is great.

She lets you ride in the french sedan, I think that's gift enough ;)

Granted, it just feels...Like it hits a wall or something. It's weird when you compare it to the other romances.

Maybe it just depends on how you play? I just spread out the dialogue options with her as I played through each important area and didn't do them all at once. I even put off doing her personal quest until later on. By the time the deal was sealed so to speak, there were still a few conversations I could have with her.

I thought her personality was great, as well as the voice acting. I liked her story. It's just that compared to the other Bioware romances I have played through, this one lacked depth. Also, the lack of a gift from her, made me feel like something was incomplete. Usually in these rp romances, there is some moment of conflict after things start going well, that has to be resolved, and which usually strengthens the relationship.... This one just felt...blah

Yeah it seems Morrigan/Alister were given a lot more character in their romance subplots than Zev and Leliana. It's a shame, the characters seem no less complex we just seem to get less of them in return for a happier ending.

I'm curious as to how did you contrive to do that? I have yet to play through but so far my experimentations have lead to massive influence losses on both, in some cases just on the other one.

Yeah, I expected more events as well. What's there is good, but it really should be more. You can't even discuss your relationship in any depth.

In recent Bioware games I really disliked that the romances always had the highpoint on the eve of the final battle. DAO finally did away with that. But it still feels weird that Leliana doesn't even say anything to you in the castle before you go to Redcliffe.

The lead up to the final battle is rather weird. It's the eve of the battle to end all battles, where either or both of you have a high chance of dying, and rather than spend that time with her lover, Leliana's hanging out in the library with Zevran?

On the whole, I thought the Leliana romance was very well done, and it had a nice progression (if you took your time and didn't exhaust the conversation options as soon as they became available) but the ending was rather abrupt.

I guess it's a difficult situation, as I'm sure if Bioware had gone with the 'one night of passion with the romance before the big battle' option, they would have been hauled over the coals for following the ME formula.

Speaking for myself, though, I would have loved to have had Leliana present for Morrigan's 'here's the deal' speech, or at least had the option to tell her what Riordan had mentioned.

Lack of gift? What a about her song? That was one of the most touching moments in game, even though Bio failed with lip sync and some of the animations.

That was really bad, I had expected at least some dialogue... No point to romance her except for the epilogue.

The song was moving though (especially with Morrigan shaking her head in the background).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't she sing that whether or not you're romancing her, as soon as you finish the Dalish elf section?

My first time through the game, when my character was romancing Morrigan only, Leliana sang her song. So....I did not feel that was a romance triggered event, but just a cool DA event.

A little off track, but if you've already slept with Leliana, is it still possible to have the foursome in the Pearl with Isabella? Anyone know exactly what that scene is contingent upon (quest completion/romance level with Leliana and Zevran, etc...)?

This is my first playthrough romancing Leliana, but so far it is more interesting than the Morrigan romance. Not much happened with Morrigan throughout the entire romance except in the end of the game, which is more plot-driven than romance-driven, but the lead-up to finally sleeping with Leliana is much more interesting (relatively speaking). With Morrigan all I did was give her the two grimoires and a couple of trinkets and before I know it the rest of the party is talking all about me and her and when I talked to her for the first time beyond giving gifts, she hopped right in bed. That said, it will definitely feel awkward to not have Leliana protest my sleeping with Morrigan

Right now I'm not sure what I've done wrong, but just before Landsmeet I was at camp with Leliana at +96 Adore......why isn't it at Love at that point? Did I mess up something or is it bugged?

I've seen someone's Youtube clip of Isabella in a threesome with a girl and Alistair.  Funny as hell.

I think you only have the option BEFORE you learn.  You can learn as someone with high dex by beating her at her game, but if you've beaten her, you've missed out on the threesome.

If you go with Leliana, she's offended and Sophie says she doesn't want the trouble.  (My husband tried that part.  No go.)

I got a similar problem with her. I have her at 100 approval and still no romance options. There are only the options to tell her stories again.

Make sure that you are also adventuring with her. You won't get the event that triggers the chance at romance, if you leave her at camp.

You need to harden her, i.e. tell her to not shy away from her past as a bard and assassin. Then she might be up for it. But it's tough in any case I think as it requires on several conditions to be met at once.

since lothering she was always in my party, except for the anvil of the void where Oghren had to be present. I killed Marjolaine gave her the two plot-gifts and yeah... maybe she's just bugging out. But Morrigan is craving me... although I always make decisions that she dissaproves with... women are strange, especially in this game...
