Maybe its just me, but the romance with Leliana, from beginning to end just felt anticlimatic.   I am wondering if I did something wrong, and missed something along the way.

1.  Had her join my party, kept her with me adventuring almost 100% of the time.  Spoke to her about herself, past, her stories etc.
2.  Had the encounter with the Orlaisian assassins, then later tracked down Marjolaine for her; then followed up with talks about how she felt about it.
3.  Then she sleeps with my character...and from then on...the conversation is always the same
   a) ask her to go to bed, and she replies she thought I would never ask ; or B) ask her to repeat some of her stories.
There is the time that Wynn councils me, that I should break up with her, to save both of us some pain (and I ignore her)

The only other change of routine that I can recall is:
1)  When I flirt with Isabella and suggest she goes with me to someplace private, to negotiate the price of being taught Duelist, Leliana interupts and forbids it.
2) Before entering the gates of Denerim to hunt down the archdemon and his generals, and all your companions speak to you, she mentions that she loves me.  But even with Leliana as my romantic interest, Morrigan's comments about being sad if my character died was far more touching.
3) After the archdemon was slain, and you spoke to your companions for the last time, she agreed to go with you whereever you went, and it was mentioned in the epilogue.

I am surprised there was no reaction or comment from her whatsoever when Morrigan and my character got together in his bedroom before the last battle, to conceive the future godchild.  She had no thoughts on that to share?  I mean...you would have expected that when your meeting with Riorden and Alistair was over, Leliana should have been the one waiting in your bedroom.  And if not....there should be some explanation.

So...while it seems that my character "sucessfully" romanced Leliana, it seems rather hollow.  Nothing compared to the BG romances.  And even the Morrigan romance, and then her breakup seemed to mean more.

You can only unlock the question about her past when her approval is between 10 and 25.
Otherwise that question will disapear if she like you more :(

If you are at 100 and have not done her personal quest yet, you need to break up with her. Then she will start talking about her past. Get her personal quest done then talk to her in camp. You will get an option to say "I hope you feel the same about me someday" or some such. This will trigger the romance.

Thats what I had to do last night with my female rogue.

The song is nice also, nice cut scene.

I just finished the game with my female character, got no romance :pinched:  Guess I'll go back to an old save, and break up with her just to see if I get that side quest (which I didn't get).

A lot of people complain about Leliana's romance not being full but I found it being one of the fullest ones. While you get no gift, she is the one that obviously loves you the most (with possible exception of Alistair) to the point of clingyness.

There are 2 conversations with Wynne. The first she thinks its innappropriate. The second she realises you are in love.

There are 2 gifts, the nug pet and the white flowers. She talks about her mother and the flowers, and you give them to her after this conversation and she will kiss you. You get one option in camp where you can kiss.

Then you need to do the bit with Marjoline, at which time she will sleep with you.

There isn't much after this beside the ending where she will travel with you, or mourn your death. But I found the romance lasted pretty much the entire playthrough, not like Morrigan who is in bed by the time I leave Lothering.

You have the exact same conversation with Wynne when you have a relationship with Morrigan.  (possibly with Alistair and Zev too, but I have not played those).  So nothing unique there.

You give 3 unique gifts to Morrigan which triggers conversations.  The two grimoires, and the mirror.  As compared to the two with Leliana.   And all of these gifts, work with, or without the romance.

Granted, Morrigan's (as with Alistair's) parent/family has much to do with the story, so it gives their romance much more depth.  Leliana's past really has little to do with the story, (same with Zev).  So...there is not as much to talk about.  Unfortunate, as it would have been nice for there to be close to the same amount of material for each of the main characters.  I put Leliana as a main character, along with Morrigan and Alistair.  The rest of the companions, at least to me, do not have the same amount of depth, or dedication to the Warden's mission, and are just bit players.

Lelaine romance is easy, short, and not fully implemented. You can start and stop it anytime you choose as well. By the time you finish your first treaty, shes in your bed if you remotely play the good guy. If you don't, you can still convince her retardedness that what your doing is for the best anyways!

She slept with me right away, no major side quest need apply, no major gifts given. I just gave her couple symbols, listened to her stories, did the right thing and still was kissing Morrigan infront of her.

I found this especially frustrating because of the Redcliffe quest.  It is really easy and since I pretty much always play the good guy her approval shoots through the roof rather quickly.
