I write this here because I just can't
get BSN to recognize that I own a copy of ME 3.

We win.

Sitting here at my computer at 1am
looking at the rapidly rising charity drive, I realized something.
The people, the wonderful devoted fans who wanted to change the
endings to a ****ing GAME, won today. We won so completely and
totally that nothing can ever take that away.

If we don't get a new ending. If
Bioware/EA never acknowledges that they made a mistake. If righteous
gaming mags like IGN and Kotaku keep calling us whiners and losers.

We still win.

I'm sure you haters will say no. You
will demand that we stop claiming victory. After all Bioware hasn't
given in and the professional media is on YOUR side. It's true, I
can't argue this fact. For every review that is cautiously unbiased
about ME 3, there are three that give it glowing praise. For ever
article that supports our cause, there are TEN that deride us.

We still win.

Do you know why?

Because even as I type this, fresh from
giving money to charity, I realize how much bigger this is than just
a silly game ending. This fight is about what you believe the world
is. Time and time again, Mass Effect has told us that the world is a
dark and grim place, populated by fearful and cruel beings who
delight in the suffering of others. And yet we are told that if we
are courageous, if we are determined, if we are persistant, than we
can beat the odds.

We've all been told the world is crap.
And that we need to lie down and accept that it will always be crap.
That our decisions don't matter. Or we can try to change things.
That we can make a difference. And we have.

WE STILL WIN.

Commander Shepard would be proud.
