Her personality in Mass Effect was xenophobic, uptight, and the kind of chemistry that was forming between her and Shepard seemed  equivalent to a superior saying "higher" and a subordinate asking "How High Sir?" But being unable to witness the pillow talk, I have no idea.  And her meatbun hair had a grandma feel that I just couldn't find attractive, she frankly looked better with her helmet on.  But in Mass Effect 3, Ashley has more depth and seems to have more connection with Shepard emotionally with the choice she made later in the game, either follow her loyalty to her career, or follow her loyalty, possibly love, for Shepard.  And frankly she gotten far more attractive in ME3, think it's the loss of the meatbun hair.  Point is, in Mass Effect 3, even Mass Effect 2, Liara has become this unemotional, paranoid, weirdo.  And I have no clue how in the spance of three stories they're still walking on eggshells around eachother.  I'm not talking about gushy love, but, something more than, "Thanks for Stopping By."

Play through Mass Effect 1, then 2, then 3 again to get the option with Ashley?  I care enough to complain about it, but no where near enough to play through all 3 games again

No, not in the least. Even if Liara changed so much that I found he despicable I would regret my decision in the first game because, within the story of the first game, Ashley is just so unlikable. Though, I could easily see picking Jack or Miranda over liara.

Never understood the Liara love. But at least she'll understand that you needed to stop the Collectors and won't judge you for being with Cerberus. ironic considering that she's the alien and Ashley is the human...

Imagine Ashley's your LI, you beat the Collectors and leave Cerberus and all she talks to you about is not trusting you? What a hack. Miri ftw.

i would if you could actually . . . you know . . . have conversations with Ashley, there just wasn't enough "dialogue", she just turned into Zaeed, of course, a lot of dialogue was like that, very disappointing

tho i still plan on making a 2nd playthrough and romance her once i get over the depressing ending

Romanced Tali, had epic friendship with Liara, left Ashley on bomb guard duty.

Don't regret any of it.

It was weird. You could definitely see where they cut corners by trying to have most lines able to be said while in the "friend zone". That said, they did add parts signifying a romance.

Then in the next cutscene, they'd act like they weren't together and there was romantic tension.

I'm the other way around; in ME1 she was young, spunky, rebellious, and full of energy. In ME3 she becomes an awkward and depressed woman whose face never seems to fully heal from the bruises IMO.

Liara, on the other hand, was a slightly annoying little girl (let's be honest with ourselves now) who, even to someone who's attracted to geekiness, just seemed to far out there. Only redeeming thing was her longer romance scene IMO. In ME3, she has so many heartfelt and personal moments with character even if you don't romance her, and her romance scene is the only one that really felt like an improvement over ME2's joke of a romance scene. I waited three games to get less of a reward than I did the first time? Seems just a little odd IMO. And then, of course, there's the fact that YOU NEVER SEE ANY OF THEM AGAIN. GOD DAMMIT BIOWARE.

I duplicated my Mass Effect 2 save game. Ripped her open with the editor, changed my Femshep Infiltrator into a Broshep Vanguard. Deleted all romance flags, swapped flags for Kaidan to Ashley. Loaded up ME2, reset my skill points and hit quick save. Loaded up ME3 and now ive just started the first stage of my romance with Ashley.

WTB S/S romance with Ashley.

I romanced her in ME1, Tali in ME2. I couldn't go back to Ashley. Her and the complaining about not trusting me because of Cerberus was annoying. It annoyed me when she did it in ME2, but she still goes on and on about it in ME3.

I created 2 saves in ME2, near the end I had a relationship with Liara and another with Tali; playing through the Liara one first, makes you wonder though, how in the heck do you and Tali.....

I did my Liaramance save first, and honestly I thought the romance arc was amazing. Best romance scene in the series so far. Will have to see how they compare when I do the Ash romance in my next playthrough.

In ME1, you could Paragon Ashley into someone more accepting of other species. It was well-done, actually. In ME3, she looks like she got a chin/jaw job I'm not a fan of. And she's got issues. I don't need a girl with issues, got that in real life (/kidding).

Edit: Liara's always stood out as my favorite romance/friend since ME1. Her VA does a fantastic job. Though I guess I'd bromance Garrus if I forgave him for ignoring me through most of ME2. All a matter of personal tastes in the end.

Ash needed another set of dialogue I thought. I still enjoyed the romance though. Liara's appears to have the most 'face time'. Although Liara's romance is really good, I prefer her as a friend.

So I'd hate to point this out (and it's amazing people forget this) but um LIARA IS THE SHADOW BROKER.

Do you understand what that means? She is the most POWERFUL person in the universe. You can't have a relationship with her. Her enemies will use you against her. The ONLY way she could be with you is to vacate her position and that is a BAD IDEA. Next person could become corrupted or be a traitor or worse, a Cerberus agent. Could you imagine the havoc Cerberus would cause if they get that position?

I can't see any possibly way that Liara can be with you without endangering your life or the lives of others.

@Moonshadow So your saying you'd bite the bullet and have a bedroom romp with Hilary Clinton just because she has power?

I do regret how BioWare doesn't use relationships to make an even better narrative but rather a side thing where you choose the up option so you can see a sex scene. Or rather a kiss scene. Or in other cases a hug.

I'm nto expecting Titanic but was a Bastila and Revan remake that hard to do?

Lolwut?

a) I think the impending end of all life is pretty much going to make any Shadow Broker feuds pointless
B) Are you seriously saying Shepard...that is Shepard, who died and came back. Shepard, who kills Reapers for breakfast. Shepard would be in danger from dating the Shadow Broker?
c) No one knows who the SB is. OK TIM does, he's dead. Wrex implies he does, that's about it.

1. You don't how shady people work. If the universe is going to implode at any second, it wouldn't matter. SB has to die in some eyes.

2. Empty threats or actual threats would draw her out. Shepard is still a MAN. He can be kidnapped and Liara still cares too much.

3. Anyone can plant a mole in. In fact, that kind of was the plot of Liara's reunion with Shepard Pre-Lair. Anyone can be the enemy in disguise.

No way. Either Liara passes the position to someone uncorruptable like EDI (Now there's a hilarious thought) or she gives up Shepard.
