Ashley pointed a gun at me. She deserves nothing from me. Liara never did such! =3

I regret romancing Ashley.

..in fact. I honestly think by the end of the game all the romances were left unfulfilled.

She went from xenophobic and racist to *****y, nagging and untrusting.

My only regret is that I passed up not one but TWO chances to kill her worthless annoying carcass.

Without a doubt my most hated Bioware character ever. If I didn't hate the endings so much I'd play through the entire series again just so I could butcher her annoying *** over and over again.

Dressing her in some weird, obviously non-regulation military uniform and letting her hair down doesn't make her any less a worthless waste of flesh.

Eh...... I didn't want her because she had an adams apple, a boxer's chin, and hairy knuckles.  But yes, it irritated me on how she questioned my loyalties constantly

Her paranoia makes sense, Kaiden is distrustful of Shepard also but they're both devoted Alliance soldiers and Cerberus is a sworn enemy of the Alliance.

Cerberus invaded the Flotilla and killed loads of Quarians. Tali still trusts Shepard.

No, Liara's ending is better. I've watched the Ashley one, and while it was okay, it wasn't nearly as good as the top 3 (Liara, Tali, and Garrus).

Skipper isn't a nickname.

It is an informal title for the Captain of a ship. It is also used occasionally by real world Marines to refer to their Captains, even though they don't command ships. (Marines use a lot of naval terminology)

So when Ashley is calling Shepard 'skipper,' it is basically the same as calling him Commander or Captain, just more informal. While some officers stand more on formality and as such Shepard should probably have had an option to insist on being addressed as Commander, 'skipper' isn't the same as a personal nickname like 'loco.'

Wait so when she actually looked like a goddamn soldier in the first game she wasn't attractive, but when she looks like some tranny bimbo in the third game she's hot?

^^This .

There is a similer thing in the U.S. Army  by refering to First Sergeants  as "TOP".

It really bothered me how Ashley acts all emotional at the very beginning of the game, then doesn't say ANYTHING romance related to you the entire game until the very end and then *space magic* "Oh hey Shepard, lets make love and profess our love to each other out of the blue after we haven't even kissed once in all this craziness"

...I was like...wut?

Her personality in Mass Effect was xenophobic, uptight, and the kind of chemistry that was forming between her and Shepard seemed  equivalent to a superior saying "higher" and a subordinate asking "How High Sir?" But being unable to witness the pillow talk, I have no idea.  And her meatbun hair had a grandma feel that I just couldn't find attractive, she frankly looked better with her helmet on.  But in Mass Effect 3, Ashley has more depth and seems to have more connection with Shepard emotionally with the choice she made later in the game, either follow her loyalty to her career, or follow her loyalty, possibly love, for Shepard.  And frankly she gotten far more attractive in ME3, think it's the loss of the meatbun hair.  Point is, in Mass Effect 3, even Mass Effect 2, Liara has become this unemotional, paranoid, weirdo.  And I have no clue how in the spance of three stories they're still walking on eggshells around eachother.  I'm not talking about gushy love, but, something more than, "Thanks for Stopping By."

This is why I went for Tali, she's funny, cute and doesn't really have any crippling emotional hang ups

Both Ashley and kaidan are the two characters I care less of. In ME1 Ashley was actually interesting with a personality. She felt real with real opinion and was really hard to get romance with. Kaidan was a nice bro to chat with. ME3 was their big opportunity to shine but it was awkward and the dialogue sucks big balls. Kaidan even did the gay thing on me, and I was like c'mon not you too. Haven't play femshep yet I hope our religious gal don't do that too. This is why I don't care much about them. I only talk with them to get the extra powers you get. Dialogue in ME3 just feel silly in general. Only a few member gets really good dialogue, like Garrus and Vegas. Liara is the only one consistent throughout the three games.

Do I? No. I find Liara's quirky personality to be one of her best qualities next to her loyalty. It's not exactly like she hasn't always been kind of weird since ME1 and that's why I liked her character. Since one she's definitely matured and has way more responsibilities, but I don't feel like she's paranoid. She's still the same person just more mature and maybe a little colder due to being an information broker, but still mostly the same.

I always romanced Ash and actually prefer her ME1 look to ME3.

I was an Ash fan before it was cool to be one.

Liara in ME1, Tali in ME2-3 - never tried anything else and not really interested in other romances.

Even when I replay games I usually do 90% of the same choices, and the 10% changes are due to known outcomes.

When Liara is not creeping me out, she just annoys the hell out of me by being the obvious BioWare's favorite pet. I don't appreciate being shoehorned into friendship\\romance with her at all. I also don't get all the fuss about asari in general.

Can't say that she's got the most screen time overall, compared to Garrus and Tali who are your squaddies through all the series, but definitely more LI time, especially in ME3. So if anything, I judge the lazy devs, who didn't deign to make other LI arcs as good or as long as Liara's.

Anyways, I like Ashley as a LI more than any character, but I guess her being a human is too bland for many people, as they prefer hot blue alien chicks or shameless fan service in case of Garrus and Tali. Also, many people are just not interested to understand her character, or turn away just because she isn't as agreeable or fawning over Shep as other LIs. So it's interesting to see how she's being accused about the strangest things, most of which are exaggerated and untrue. Personally, I like a person with their own flaws, opinions and beliefs, and seeing that Ashley has these qualities makes her more real and relatable as a character. So there.

I agree, her monotonality towards their relationship is just strange.  So many say it's the most flushed out relationship, or the most realistic.... sorry but "Thanks for Stopping by" or "Good to see you Shepard" seems very cold to come from the mouth of someone you were supposedly in love with for 3 games.  Atleast Ashley and Shepard had a dramatic arc.  Ashley is xenophobic in part 1, but due to her experiences with you, instead criticizes you in ME 2 for joining Cerberus, a known alien-hating organization to the point that in ME 3, you have to re-earn her trust and get her to love you again.  That and the actress seems to show something that resembles emotion.

Liara Romance, All Scenes

Liara shows plenty of emotion throughout the game, it just isn't in the throwaway one liners that are there to indicate "I'm all out of dialogue, Shepard. Stop back after a mission or two."

They are the equivalent of Garrus saying he's in the middle of calibrations, and every character has them. Yes, it sucks that Liara's throwaway one liners don't reflect relationship status, but she isn't unique in that. That is true of all the game's romance options, unfortunately. Even so, the proper conversations aren't cold or emotionless.

Nope. Why would I? After the way Ashley treated Shepard in ME2? And then in the beginning of ME3? I don't even get her back aboard the Normandy.

I did when I was redoing ME2 right before ME3 came out, but then I got over it because I realized that I never really liked Ashley as much as Liara. And meeting her on Horizon didn't help anything.
