I suppose if someone wanted templer armor the only way is to kill him maybe thats why we can't save him. someone might get far in game to see they missed it.

I thought it was abundantly clear that she'd feed on the templar until he died and that that is what all demons do.Maria Caliban wrote...
There's no reason to think that she'd kill the Templar. He's a bit like killing the cow that's giving milk. She might slay *other* people, but the Templar will likely live until someone decides they both need to die.

Even for my good character, it's tough for me to justify just killing the demon in this case. Not only does she make a strong argument that she's giving the knight what he's always desired- a family- but also she shows a bit of weakness in relating to the PC that she's also been interested in experiencing the life of a mortal. If she's lying about her motives, she's an awfully good liar- and my character with Coercion 4 didn't notice any deception.
That demon doesn' t lie at all. she is quite clear. She is going to give him the illusion of having a family. Feed on him, while doing so, and he will die in a year or two. At which point, she will move on to another.
She justifies this by saying, a short but happy life is better then a long but empty one, and what do you care what she does after she leaves? she won't cross paths with you again.
Your own moral compass can fill the path from there. You can't save him. Is it better to kill him right there, then let him "suffer" the delusion? People are enslaved, killed, tortured constantly not in your presance. You can't save everyone, and is it your problem if the free demon may or may not(almost certainly will..), hurt someone in the future?
My rogue understands the illusion as no differant from mind control and slavery. Without free will, a slave would be perfectly blissful. This is inherently evil. And she does consider any future suffering the demon might cause her responsibility if she could have stopped it right then and there.

I'll video the conversation my next runthrough, and we can get her exact words.

Why don't rename the Nightmare difficulty to a something like Killing Orgy? Most people seem to enjoy just the killing/looting and don't realize, they've been had: hours and hours of killing spree makes the PC the worst demon possible in the setting.
Oh yes let's just spare the poor demon and her love slave....that's such a good idea..

I did think that if I killed the demon first it might free the templar...no such luck..
