Yup, thanks for the ME3 endings. My SWTOR guild just got jacked.

I thought about canceling after the Mass Effect 3 ending, but I thought that would have been selfish and also childish, but since I'm not playing it, I might as well cancel for that reason.

But I understand it fully. People want to defy and complain about a product in different ways. Not sure who came up with the idea, but that's just how it'll work.
I hope you find people to replace your missing members, OP.

However, as a consumer, there are very few recourses left to us to get BW's / EA's attention. Voting with our wallets is the traditional way to get a company's attention.
While I regret you are being negatively impacted I hope that BW / EA is getting the incentive they need to either fix what they did wrong or at least make sure they "never" do this again.

To my guild at least. I don't run it (thankfully), but its sad seeing friends and fellow guildmembers rage quitting SWTOR because of their anger towards ME3's endings. 10 people quitting probably won't even cause a tickle in TOR's suscriber population, but I'm affected by it.
Time to see if we can get replacements in the meantime or hold out till April, when this endings fiasco dies down. On record, I HATE the ME3 endings myself, but I still find SWTOR enjoyable, for now.
They've given money to Bioware for ME3 and can't do anything immediately to show their anger. In their minds, by not giving money to Bioware on one project, it'll get their attention.
I'm not sure how effective that will be, but if it's what they want to do then so be it.

I'm sure EA will listen to dollars over fan feedback. Unfortunately, I don't even know if Mr. Riccitiello knows how to process feedback that doesn't include a dollar sign and a decimal point.

I got bored with SWTOR quickly after hitting 50, still waiting to see what 1.2 brings; but I am definitely less optimistic now.
This.
I'm still subbed, but leveling my alts doesn't have the charm it did in every other MMO I've ever played, ever. Which is odd, I thought the VA and all would help but it's actually hindering. Yes, even with the spacebar.
So I'm subbed still, giving it time, at least until 1.2. If that delivers well enough, I will stay in to see if the other minor irritants get addressed in a decent timeframe.
However, TOR has on the whole been only marginally interesting the entire time, and I can't deny that the thought of cancelling my sub did cross my mind after the ME3 thing first broke. I decided that wasn't what I wanted to do, but the thought was there. None of my guildies have quit over it, either. In fact, most of them hadn't gotten 3 yet, and my ranting about it kept them from buying it. I may have *saved* a few subs. Ha.

Playing a super light-side female trooper voiced by Hale and romancing a revenge-seeking sniper alien is just hitting way too close to home. Had to stop.
There is that. I was going to try to level my Trooper this weekend, and I couldn't bring myself to do it. I kept thinking "That's my FemShep's voice." My brain just wouldn't advance any further than 'Shep'. So I rolled that Sentinel I'd been meaning to redo since I deleted my first. Still not making much progress though. TOR doesn't keep my interest for alting, which is actually a very bad sign, because I am usually one of the world's worst altoholics. I even had 3 characters in FF11, back before it was super easymode to level, and having more than one character was considered masochistic by many. I've got several cap/near cap chars on LotRO, but TOR... just the one, the rest aren't any higher than the mid twenties, and most are much lower.
I haven't seen any general chatter about ME3's endings on Carrick Station's general channel, but that may just be because I've been keeping odd hours in my gaming of late. Or maybe noone on The Progenitor cares.

Were you enjoying it before you played ME3? If so, isn't that a silly thing to do? Will you honestly not be coming back in a month when your anger subsides?
In all honesty, I'm considering no longer buying Biotronic Arts products myself, as horrendous as both DA2 and ME3 were.
This.

I'm really sorry to see that your guild is falling apart because of ME3. However, as one of the people who stopped subscribing, I have to say that as much as I liked what they did in SW:tOR and as much as I'm attached to the character I've made, it's not nearly enough to overcome the need to impress on Bioware that shoddily put together endings and unkept promises will have an impact on their bottom line.

It's a pretty big stretch to quit SWTOR because ME3 bit the dust. I think the more likely scenario is that this was the final straw for those people who already had issues with SWTOR (because there certainly are issues with SWTOR).

Seems hypocritical to continue to support Bioware financially after this.
This, basically. You can't say you're outraged by the ME 3 endings, threaten to boycott everything, then casually go back to TOR and act like it's nothing.
Taking a stand means actually sending a message across, not saying something and doing another.
It's regrettable that your guild suffers for it, but are you really going to blame the players for taking a stand? It's the one thing they can influence as a customer of Bioware. No number of letters, messages, video rants will be valid if there aren't some actual numbers to back it up.

That's just stupid.
The sad thing about stupidity is that you can't help it.
I have a little friend there, I'm like a stepfather to him, he is fifteen years old only, but even he is more reasonable than that.
I'm hoping your guild survives the sudden loss of people.

A customer is always more important than a sale.
I was disappointed with DA2, and even more disappointed with the way they handled the fan reaction to it, which was basically to ignore it.
Still, I read the defenses of it, showing that BioWare had too short a time to produce it properly (thanks to EA), so I thought I could forgive them, even though I couldn't bring myself to do a second replay of the game. Not every time at bat is a home run.
I play SWTOR (thought I'm having a hard time logging on these days -- no drive to do *any* gaming, really.) and I am really really enjoying it.
I swore long ago that I would *never* play a subscription based game, as I thought that was sick, paying to play a game that I'd already paid for. However SWTOR was too much to resist, with both BioWare and Star Wars in one fell swoop!
I suspect my enjoyment is purely from the fact that I've never played an MMO before -- as most of the complaints seem to be from the 'veterans'.
However as much as I'm enjoying it, whether I keep my sub or not will depend on how they handle this ME3 situation. I'm paid up until July, so no rush for me to decide.
This will be the turning point for my relationship, not only with BioWare, but EA as a whole. That might limit my options, but there are other things to do in the world but gaming, and maybe it's time find some of them, if this is what the industry is coming to.
