Ahh the first CE unboxings thanks for this, i can finally calm down. I must say though its kinda underwelming.

The ONLY problem I have with the map is that its peeling off AS you can see on my pictures, some of the threads around the edges started to peel off

Sadly a far cry from classic cloth maps of old like the old Ultima ones -- colorful, sturdy, and with an embroidered border.

Game have the CE for sale and it does include the cloth map, along with several other things. Checking on the website now (to make sure it did) it also say it is fully booked, meaning you can't order it now.

that fraying definitely looks intentional, yet also very unfortunate. Looks like it will fall apart any moment

Well, can you tell if it's cotten or synthetic? Either way, you should burn the edges! Not only will it be asthetically pleasing, but it'll keep those threads in line If it's synthetic the edges will kinda melt and 'shrivel' which will be a cool effect... but if it's cotton the thread will just burn away and char. Either way it's cool looking and kinda tidies it up a bit. That's what I'll end up doing... either that or fold the edges and pull out the old sewing machine. Luckily it looks like they left a bit of room on the outside for trimming, burning, mending. Looks cool!

Thanks for the pictures. I did not get the CE just for the Cloth Map so I am ok with the result. The frayed ends do not look frayed enough but the blood stains is a nice touch. Hopefully the material is not of low quality that falls apart too soon.

Gah! When I just looked at that box and thought it looked nice, I realized mine will have that hideously oversized 18+ sign all over it (Yes, they made it bigger, because it's a problem if you can make out the cover art of a game box, apparently... *sigh* nothing BW or EA can do about it).

Its Treated Cotton I Believe. I just burnt a little thread and it burnt like a firework fuse... i.e quickly and along the thread. luckily the thread was a detached thread and not stuck on the map.... otherwise i would have had a burnt map T__T

thanks a lot for the pics, Can't wait for my DA:O CE at 10Am from Gamestop. So glad we get a sweet cloth map instead of that cheap half plastic half paper crap oblivion gave us
