Is this it? I'm on the mission where I attack Cerberus to take back the VI...is this the final mission?

Unbelievable, I feel like I just started the game and now it's already almsot over. I even did a bunch of side quests too, maybe half of them, and even those we're just recycled multiplayer maps put into singleplayer. Considering the development time and cost I had expected a much bigger, longer and more "epic" campaign.

This would have been an incredible waste of 60 dollars if it weren't for the multiplayer, which I've played a lot. I think they should release the DLC free as a way to appease those who're upset with the launch date DLC fiasco and to extend the games playtime bexause it's way to short,

Gonna be honest, it's on the short side. Wait for a year or so of DLC content, I guess?

It's short compared to the second one.

That's not the final mission, but its close to it.

I have a 50hr playthrough that's a good length for me. Story missions are Tuchanka, Sur'Kesh, Citadel 2, Rannoch, Palaven, Horizon and Thessia even before the end game, which is more or less like ME1. Most of the sidequests are NOT recycled MP environements, just 6 are. There are some really big sidequests that flesh out the game a lot- Grissom Academy, Ardat-Yakshi Monastery etc.

I can't really complain about the length of SP. Got heaps of other complaints though.

Don't call the fetch missions, in the same category as side quests. That was pathetic to play through. And BioWare isn't about having the best RPG experience, it's telling a story. You can't tell a story over 200 hours.

This ain't no Betheseda where you get a lot of bang for your buck.

35 hours to 100% it, takes me the same amount of time to do ME2 100% DLC included. Once DLC is out ME3 will officially take me longer to beat than ME2

I finished at 39 hours going at the same speed as I went in ME1 (22 hour playthrough) and ME2 (32 hour playthrough). It isn't shorter, it is longer.

Took me 35 hours on Insanity and I didn't even do anywhere near everything.

I'd say it was more than enough. ME1 was 20 hours for me, ME2 was 40 hours, and ME3 was 45 hours.

Would had been Nice if we saw more of the Homeworlds of each of the species, instead of Random planets across the galaxy, even what we saw on some homeworlds was'nt much.
I did enjoy the game though and most places I went was good and yea I had more fun with ME3 than ME1 and 2.
I just wish we saw more of each Race and their fight against the reapers.

I'm about 30 hours in now and I'm no where near the end, but I try do as many of the side and fetch missions as I can. I don't really remember how much time I put into ME2, but I do know it was less than 40.

No its not the final mission. I personally dont think its too short. The length feels just about right.

This game is shorter. In ME2, there were missions that advanced the plot, also recruitment missions, loyalty missions, and sidequests (where you actually do something rather than just scan X). In ME3, you only have those priority missions plus a few N7 missions where you actually land and wreak havoc with your squadmates. Oh, did I mention that one of your squadmate spends nearly half the game in the hospital after joining you for ONE mission in the beginning, and the other one doesn't show up until well-over half of the priority missions are done? Good times.

Then there's the ending.

EDIT: forgot I was in spoiler-free zone, although I guess what I've said aren't exactly spoilers.  Apologies if they are.

It certainly felt shorter than ME2. Definitely shorter than ME1, but that was somewhat artificially inflated by all the driving around.

I rushed it in 20 hours, on narrative difficulty.

Its give or take 40 hours if you do everything.

In an age of 5 and 6 hour games I think its criminal to call it short.

This is really surprising - I did all n7 quests, all meaningful side quests and some of the planet-scans (5.8k war assets) and finished the game in exact 26 hours (on full Insanity!)

I think the other titles demand way longer to complete.

It is way too short, mostly because of the lack of immersion. There are no loyalty missions, no class-related missions, no secrets. It feels like Call of Duty - click & rush, brains out.

For sake of comparison, since I played all three games back to back.  Worth noting that I, of course, know the first two games extremely well and could run through them faster.  Nonetheless, I did everything in each game, everything that I could do at least.  This includes DLC, and I'm rounding.

Mass Effect: 36 hours.
Mass Effect 2: 44 hours.
Mass Effect 3: 38 hours.

For a game with a lot less DLC, I think it stacked up fairly well.  Note, I spent an insane amount of time exploring in ME3, and I did literally every "fetch" quest that I could do.

how many hours have you put in so far ?, the multiplayer maps are based on the single player maps (forum rules stop me posting what i think of you on that point)   now you say youve done half of the side missions so your basicly saying you did all the main quests and played multiplayer to make up for not doing them.

this topic is as funny as the dragon age post where they then admited to not doing any side missions after saying the game was to short.

23 hours, did everything.

Had 6000+ War effort stuff.

Also insanity. Mass effect 2 was 29 hours, not doing everything (random bases when you scan etc) and mass effect 1 was...crap I don't know, getting all that stuff in the mako didn't really feel like a game.

It took me around 31 hours to do everything in the game on Normal difficulty, with the exception of one or two side quests that glitched on me. My average ME2 play through was slightly longer than that, but not by much.
