Spend more time on SP instead of MP, SP always suffers because of MP

I got 23 hours on it so nope. Hell Half-Life is a great game and it's 11 hours :-)

I played on Normal. After ME3 content is over I'm going to replay the entire series one after another... such a rollercoster really hehe. One moment your smiling, the next your crying and the next your saying "FU** YEAH!"

Too short? I've heard this complaint of games 5 hours long or 8 hours long..... but people are seriously complaining that over 20 hours long is too short? The only reason its 20 hours long is they cut out all the superfluous crap, many people found monotonous rather then enjoyable. Its still nearly a full day of gameplay, and I welcome the streamlined version even if I found the ending to be crap

Foot in mouth...

Yeah I have to admit I've sunk hundreds of hours in that game doing things most people find monotonous

I would've loved it to have been longer, but it isn't by any means a short game.

It took 34 hours on Hardcore, so it was about the same or close to my experience with ME2 - only with more emotional storytelling, etc.

Wow people.
Idk how you all beat BW games so fast.

I'm clocked at 64 hours atm, and i just beat Horizon. And that's on Normal difficulty.
Christ.

It definitely feels shorter than ME2. I'm like 19 hours in my playthrough of Mass Effect 3 and I think I'm near the very end. I guess having a character imported from ME1 > ME3 > ME3 helps though because I started at lvl 30 so makes it a lot quicker in combat since I can mow down enemies lol

If the ending doesn't depress me too much when I get to the end I plan to do a FULL playthrough of every side quest. I just did a few and the main story to finally get to the end. With MP tacked on it will give the game a lot more replay value too.

I completed ME3 + "From Ashes" in 35 hours and did everything I could think of. ME2 took me 38 hours w/ all DLC. So it's longer than ME2 core game, but it does feel shorter, maybe because it's grouped into acts. I dunno.

For me, ME2 felt longer b/c the loyalty missions were tedius to me (and some felt pointless).

But I finished both ME2/ME3 in about 35 - 38 hours on my first playthroughs.

this and this.

also, after horizon i had to stop playing me2 for a while to get bearings. a lot of sadness there.

me3 sort of grabbed you by the throat and you couldn't stop playing.

It's about the same as the other two games which is pretty good.

This one took me longer than the other two games by far and I enjoyed it for that. I did every mission on Insanity for my first playthrough and it took a solid 38-40 hours.

Well what did you expect from a game that has multiplayer?

That is why Bethesda will always be my favorite. They are as allergic to MP as i am  Now if they only used those saved resources to increase depth instead of width...

Baseline ME2 is about the same length. With more DLC on the way, it wouldn't be a stretch to think ME3 will end up being as long as ME2 is in its complete form.

For sake of comparison, since I played all three games back to back.  Worth noting that I, of course, know the first two games extremely well and could run through them faster.  Nonetheless, I did everything in each game, everything that I could do at least.  This includes DLC, and I'm rounding.

Mass Effect: 36 hours.
Mass Effect 2: 44 hours.
Mass Effect 3: 38 hours.

For a game with a lot less DLC, I think it stacked up fairly well.  Note, I spent an insane amount of time exploring in ME3, and I did literally every "fetch" quest that I could do.

Ok, thanks instant for that comparison.

But 38h is hard, but it is actually everyones own choice and experience how to long you want to explore and enjoy the game.

All depends on the individual playing. When first playing ME1 I was 100% done in about 20hrs. ME2 took me just under 30 with the first time through with no DLC. ME3 took 33 hours to 100% with from ashes on normal diff. I'm satisfied with the length at this point. Considering other games these days you can wrap up in one lengthy sitting, I'm not about to complain about getting a good solid 30 hrs to complete minus any future DLC.

ME1 took long because i kept bouncing around in that retarded tank.

I avrged 32 hours to beat me3. I dilly dallyed a lot tho, hung around folks and listened to their side stories, like that one asari in the hospital. If you listen to her entire story, it pops up in the Spectre terminal! :D THAT IS NEAT!

i have no idea what the authorizations eventually do tho.

It just depends on your method of playing this game. Some people like to speed through, ignoring sidequests in favor of playing the story. Other's like to take their time, explore, investigate, do things. Really just depends on how you play the game.
