Took about 40ish hours for me.
Then again im the type of person who takes 20 mins gazing at the birds flying around the presidium wondering how the hell they got there, then trying to figure out what happens if they fly out of the fakesky.

I think It took me a huge amount of time hearing every people chatting in the Citadel, not only the ones which trigger the fetch quest but also the banter ones, like the converstion between the crazy Asari and her
psychologist in the hospital, or the one between the two lovers when you enter the common area. Everytime you enter into an area there are always new dialogues between people and many of them are really long.

If you stop everytime to hear all of them there is no way this game would feel too short.

Not to mention the hours I spent on the Normandy after every mission, by hearing the opinions of my squadmates about it, by customizing my weapons and so on.

So I think that unlike ME2 where we spent allmost the time in missions that could not be avoided, ME3 lenght can really be very different depending on how you play it.

ME 1 took me 22 hours doing around 92% of it the first time.

ME 2 took me around 35 hours.

ME 3 took me around 26 hours getting over 6k in war assets, plus id say 2-4 hours in multiplayer to get 100% galactic readiness.

I was a little disappointed.

The game does feel short too me, but I suspect that is more because most of the "sidequests" are either fetchquests, or re-purposed multiplayer maps. (which there are only one of which I think is actually recycled in a good way)

Otherwise the main missions are actually around the same length as ME2.

I'm dissapointed in this regard, but what can you do? Hope future DLC really helps to pad the length.

I disagree, the game took me two whole solid days to beat if you honestly think its too short perhaps you should just stick to mmos

ME3 was way longer than ME2, without the DLC's. i think my first ME3 insanity run took me about 30 hours, whereas ME2 is doable in 15-ish. i must have already put in 100 hours into the game and i still wanna do 2 more playthroughs, which makes the game well worth the money.

That' involves difficulty variables that have little bearing on actual length. Having to move slowly through levels (or by reloading constantly) isn't the same thing as the actual amount of content in the game, which I argue is less than ME2
 or 1.

It has similar main quests length (a little more than two or 1) but when it comes to alternate, or sidequest content the game is decidingly lacking, which gives it the feeling of being short.

I beat the game in three evenings, the longest of which was the time it took me to do the "fetch quests" which were not engaging at all, and honestly I am a little annoyed bioware took that route when it came to sidequests.

But I think they only did that as an alternateive to nothing, which would have been even worse. So I am hoping DLC for ME3 are more along the lines of LOTSB, or Overlord length wise to help pad out the emptiness.

Really? I thought that it was longer than Mass Effect 2...maybe im wrong, idk. I don't think though that 3 comes close to the size of the original Mass Effect...

Narrative difficulty. I don't have the file right in front of me, but I believe it took me 13-14 hours; all sidequests done, listened to a lot of conversations, and had tons of crew interaction.

However, now playing it on Veteran or whatever (the step below Insanity) I can already tell its going to take me a lot longer. You wouldn't think it, but difficulty extends the time by a lot, just because of how much longer it takes to kill any one enemy, not to mention how many of them there are.

It /felt/ shorter than ME2, and that is comparing in my mind's eye Veteran difficulty length. It /felt/ longer than ME1 though, if you take out all the Mako driving.

I think I used something like 23-35 hours on the game (can't for the life of me remember the exact numbers).

That's a lot of time for me to complete a game :D

First playthrough took me 36 hours on Storymode / Casual / Full Decisions and I even managed to miss 2 or 3 sidequests.

Of course you can never get enough Mass Effect playtime, but 36 hours is quite reasonable.
