Seriously though, there's nothing wrong with trying to find some like minded people to play with and occasionally socialize with.

I play with all types of people, but every so often it's nice to not have to go through the whole "I'm a girl, deal with it" song and dance and the talking about my personal life in chat = going through the whole "I'm gay, it's not a big deal" song and dance.

As none of my rl friends even play video games, I like to find some game contacts I have a few things in common with.

OP, you can add me to the gamertag list. BTW, I am willing to play with any gamer (no matter their sexuality and gender identity - or lack thereof) except for those that use racist, sexist, homophobic, etc. slurs. It really bothers me and distracts me from the match. I usually play Silver matches and sometimes I'll play Gold so it's always great to have a good team of gamers and it's even better if we get along and talk!

It might be helpful if people also post if they use a mic, too.
I have one and use it occasionally, and it can make a big difference in terms of gameplay.
Also, as this thread is intended as social networking, it would be kind of hard to get to know someone though Mass Effect 3 without being able to talk to them, so we could tell the difference between those who just want skilled players to play with or those who would like to talk for a bit.

I know EXACTLY what you mean!

I had to quit a match when a couple of the other players started telling racist jokes and using the N word… and then *another* time I was playing with randoms and they all died on wave 10 and expected me to finish the objective without them BUT they kept calling me the F word whenever I did something they thought was stupid <_<. So I ran up to a Geth Prime and let him kill me. That might have been poor sportsmanship, but I refuse to play with people who, like you said, use racist, sexist, or homophobic slurs! 

Anyway, I added your GT to the list and look forward to playing with you sometime!

As much as you may hate people saying things like that they are a product of social taboo and not people with homophobic tendencies. As a kid growing up, before I knew what it meant I said it as to mean dumb or pointless. I don't say it anymore, but taking serious offense to it is a bit extreme. Odds are people don't mean it with the connotation you think. Even making this thread is a good example of just how politically correct to a fault people have become. Just my two cents. Enjoy your gaming of isolation.

I agree that people using "gay" and other such words as everyday insults is pathetic and childish, even though I'm straight, I still think its offensive. Would be more than happy to meet new people! Regardless of what flavor they prefer in bed

Yeah, gay here. Don't really make a big fuss about it, hasn't been a real problem playing over XBL (so far, knock wood), I will more likely be annoyed if you have Kinect on to pick up every single sound in your living space than to hear random epithets. It's the internet, ignorance goes with the territory, lol.

If someone says "that geth hunter is so gay!" I'm more willing to let it slide (although I might make a quip about how *I* think the geth hunter is "so straight" )
But I am entirely justified in being seriously offended when someone calls me a "****got".

And, so far, all of the people I've met from this thread have thoroughly enjoyed themselves when we've played together! And I'm sure we'll continue enjoy our so-called "gaming of isolation" in the future!

Supposedly, 1 out of every 10 people is a member of the LGBT community. So it makes sense that there are a lot of gaymers out there!

I just don't GET this kind of thing. This is totally pointless. It's one thing to look for people of the same nationality or somesuch, but same sexuality? I don't care if you're gay, straight, into beastiliaty, or any sexuality shade inbetween, this is game matchmaking. There are other outlets for romantic matchmaking.

And before everybody instantaneously assumes that I'm a homophobe, no I'm not.
