ocasionaly i get some laughs from a good talkative group
and ive only had a grand total of 2  "1337" gamers who figured they would tell the rest of us how to play after they charged to there death at the start of the wave

It is more pervasive and ingrained into gamer communities than just x-box.

Being bigoted against bigots? sounds like some horrid meme. But seriously, It is not like that due to the fact that we are trying to create an enviroment in which people of any sexual orientation can feel safe and have fun while playing a game and not have a bunch of slurs thrown about every 5 seconds. So I guess you are wrong but only because it is not bigotry just anti bigotry, we are tying to create a group of likeminded people who are tolerant and accepting.

It's so we can play with people who aren't all "OMG that Brute is so bleeping gay" or when someone does something they don't like they go "Wow you're such a Fa****. It has nothing to do with segregating, nobody is saying straight people can't join in, we just want an environment where we feel safe. I had to quit WoW because I couldn't deal with the damn Fa** this and Fa* that. It ya know, hurts people's feelings? You'd be amazed how bad online gaming is...

I’ve *tried* to follow my own advice (“don’t feed the trolls!”) but sometimes I can’t help myself… I contacted a moderator asking for advice on how to deal with trolls because I don’t want this thread to get overrun/locked and she said, “if someone is 'attacking' meaning the use of derogatory terms, phrases, images, or hate speech, by all means report them, but don't argue with them or even reply to their comments.”

I’m going to update the OP with her recommendation and hopefully people will listen! Let’s all try to stay respectful and on-topic!

You're taking the OP completely out of context and have misconstrued it's original intention. It's simply calling for those that harbor no sort of ill intent to ones sexual preference and or orientation.
 
You're comparing the complexion of ones skin with ones own ideals. It's an apples and oranges comparison; the topic is pretty straightforward.

Perhaps you should look over it again.

As to stay on topic, I have no problem enjoying some matches with anyone.

(PC) ID: FishNChips2. My husband and I have been enjoying multiplayer together recently, and can handle Silver and Gold even without mics (broke our cheap ones from overuse). Mortal sin not to have, I know.

Haven't had any negative experiences on PC, but was weirded out once when one of our squad mates asked twice if anyone was black. No one replied, thank goodness. Idk where that conversation would have gone.

But when you start to create a society of "likeminded" people creates bigotry...only because you eliminate diversity.  Its not that complicated and I understand why you would do that but people will be people and some people you will not be able to get along...and you know what? thats fine...you can' t be friends with everyone anyways.  But if you can get friends that are not likeminded but respectful to others, then you will get a better gaming experience...thats just my two cents. 

CLEARLY, you rather have gay people together in one place, straights in another place...and those in between co-mingle with the whole bunch.  but you effectively pit one side against another and that will get you nowhere in the larger scale.

P.S.: You are not the only one doing this.  There are straight people that do this as well.  (what you call, bigots...I find that to be interesting because you are doing the same thing.)

There will always be homophobias out there...it will only be a day that everyone can understand where those kinds of people come from...I mean there is always going to be racists out there...people today understand why they are the way they are and how to deal with them.

You're missing the whole point. Elimination of diversity? Are you stoned?

The OP is asking for an environment that is coherent and coincides with all, without the need for racial slurs and obscene profanity/language that would be deemed offensive. With your logic that would also mean that if this were to have been a topic calling for those that have no problem playing with people of different ethnicities, it would be wrong for doing so?

"Diversity?" LOL.

And even though this is not calling for strictly homosexual people, with any sort of logic (which seems to absent on your part), that those whom are homosexual would be most tolerant of such.

THIS is an AWESOME idea! While we wait for EVEN MORE people to add their names to the already ridiculously long list why don’t some of the veterans who’ve been around this thread for a while share some of their experiences?

I’ll go first:

Ok, so I’ve never played online multiplayer games before and I was REALLY nervous to start. I created this thread after a couple bad experiences with randoms and I’m SO glad I did because I’ve already found a lot of really cool people (I’ve even become *Facebook friends* (ooooh ahhhh) with some of them because I consider them to be real friends now )

Anyway, two of my regular buddies are ChaoticLoon & StoneColdSCU. We love to just play Mass Effect for fun (as in, we just goof around, Krogan head butting each other and kicking some serious Reaper butt on Silver

PLUS they both are from Australia so they have amazingly awesome accents…


Anyone else wanna share their experiences?

Legend, Its hard to see it that way.  When the title of the thread is, "Any gay (or gay-friendly) players out there?",
If what is bolded the goal of this thread then why not title it, " Any respectable gamers out there?"  but no, the OP Is actively looking for gay or gay-friendly individuals...
