Would have been easier to create a group from the outset rather than run a thread . BSN members are normal people with their own prejudices just like the wider community so you were always going to create a drama with this post. It was always destined to become a debate that was going to upset people. Personally no prob with gays and I don't give a **** whether someone is gay but just feel that this was the wriong way to go about forming a group.

I was relatively new to the forums when I created this thread and wasn't even familiar with groups... sorry!
Having said that, I am fairly certain that this thread has generated more interest than any group ever could have. A fellow forumite eventually did create a group (called the Rainbow Brigade) but the fact that this thread is still going strong after 50+ pages, and new people are adding their names to the list regularly shows me that starting this thread was exactly the right thing to do.

I know that you already stated this in your original post, OP, however there should never be a division. I am straight, however I would never not play with someone of another sexual orientation, nor do I have issue with their preferences, as long as they are nice people.

Without reading through all 56 pages (time constraints) I hope that you don't receive negative comments/abuse from players in game or on the forums. Shame on them if this does happen, especially in the Mass Effect community given the nature of the Single Player stories.

I've managed to snag 3 days off work thanks to all my overtime, and because everyone else is at work during the week it means I'll have plenty of time for Xbox, so I just want good players to play with.

I score highly in matches, it's rare for me not to be top of the leaderboard, but I actually enjoy it when I'm outscored because it means I'm playing with good players and frees me up to expeiment with new classes. Add me if you want, my GT is:

I never said I don’t “like” people who use the word “gay” to mean “stupid”.
If anything, I pity them for being so woefully unintelligent.
The word gay once meant “happy” but it never meant anything close to “stupid”. So using it in a derogatory context is just plain silly. You may not find it homophobic, but I happen to find it ANNOYING. Which is why I’d prefer to play with people who don’t talk like that. I’m flattered that you’re so concerned with my life and whether or not I will have problems later on, but my humble suggestion to you is to go do something more productive with your life than respond to a thread that doesn’t affect you in the slightest.

I play on PC. For the most part, no one on PC cares who you are, we don't talk much anyway. I have a mic, but I don't like to be the only guy in the match chatting. While I am not gay, it makes no difference to me who is. This is a game, just play to the best of your ability. Maybe this has already been written, I didn't much feel like reading the first 50+ pages.

EDIT: I don't mean to be rude, but I just frown against stereotyping in general. I don't think that homosexuals should be mistreated because of that fact, but I don't think they should recieve special treatment either. I am an equal rights person and don't appreciate it when people feel forced to make things like this. Just to get my opinion out of the way and make sure there are no misunderstandings.

I am interested however, to remain on topic, with the motive behind this. To the OP, your original post didn't really tell me much. Why did you decide to make this thread?

lol, yeah it would be great if society worked that way. Unfortunately the world is as it is and not how we wish it to be. Coming out is a burden that GLBT individuals shoulder vis-a-vis every person they meet for their entire life, and which no heterosexual person ever has to experience. It's not an "interest" that one enjoys (although it does have a unique significance and the GLBT community has repurposed it as a cornerstone of its identity).

Your use of "stereotype" is also very slippery and, honestly, a bit telling.

AgentStark, not only have I explained myself thoroughly numerous times (I've probably answered your question, or some version of it, on every other page of this thread) but I've also kept my cool despite being trolled to no end. 

But honestly, I'm getting a bit fed up.

Quite frankly, I don't owe you an explanation. 
Do you know how many pointless, repetitive, or asinine threads I see pop up on this forum EVERY DAY? 
And what do I do? Nothing. 
I suppose I *could* go into those threads and whine and complain and ask the OP why they decided to make ANOTHER thread about how the Krysae needed to be nerfed or some nonsense but I DON'T because I believe in live and let live.

I don't know why you singled out me and my thread; I didn't break any forum rules by creating this and the moderators have expressed their support for the purpose of this thread. 

You want to know why I created this thread?
Because for the past four hours, I was having a blast playing Mass Effect with some cool people (JusticarFlareon, Frostedwing, Blkrose Kitty and Afro Tyler) who I met BECAUSE OF THIS THREAD.
That, alone, makes it all worth it and validates my original purpose. 

Maybe instead of wasting your time posting in this thread you could play some Mass Effect?

Either way, I hope you have a nice life (and thanks for the bumps!)
