I can't really say I care much one way or another about the sexual orientation of the people I'm gaming with, whether we're talking online or in real life (although my flamboyantly gay neighbour who really puts his pride into building penis-shaped cities in Carcassonne has provoked the occasional eye-rolling response out of me).

I don't really have the impression that it matters that much to anyone else either, tbh. But then, I have the impression that the "LOL! ****!"-factor is markedly higher on Xbox live than on the PC (although I've seen my fair share of Counter-Strike players who appear to disprove my argument there).

Anyway. My origin nick is DokteurK, and I'm on the Euro side of the pond.

That's the silliest thing I've heard all day. There's something called Grindr and Adam4Adam and *that's* where I could go if I ever have a craving for some sausage

Krunjar, my problem is that right now I have too *many* gay or gay-friendly people to play Mass Effect with... If I want to weed out the couple of individuals that use the word "gay" to mean stupid, I ought to be entitled to do that without it being an issue. See, I like to play Mass Effect with cool, mature people that I can have fun with. The people who say "that's so gay" are free to play with each other if they want!

So don't get me wrong: I'm a *very* tolerant guy. And I 100% support their right to say whatever they want to say, even the "F" word... I just won't play with them. 
And I realize that it's become a habit for some people to say... But it's a habit they should work hard to break. I used to say "that's retarded" and stuff like that until I became friends with a girl who had Down's Syndrome. After that I tried REALLY hard never to say the "R" word again out of respect to her (I admit, I slipped a couple of times, but I always felt bad and would immediately apologize, even if she wasn't around to hear it. If you say "that's so gay" maybe you should try doing that until it becomes a HABIT for you to just not say it...!)

Guess I can't really fault your logic. But I have a knee-jerk opposition to the removal of prejudice via segregation. Sticking all the undesirables in a little box only serves to further marginalise them. Seen it happen before. Segregation  Maybe it will work on teh internets.

Are you selective when it comes to your friends and whom you choose to hang out with in real life?
(I think it's safe to assume the answer is "YES")
It’s the same principle here: if I want to be a little picky when I play a game with people online, I can do it without being labeled a “segregationist”. Sheesh!

"Lol" is right!  Lately I've been feeling like a crazy person cause I'd say stuff (like, "I'm coming to revive you!" and then they'd immediately use a medigel... ) and NO ONE would ever respond to anything I said so I was thinking people didn't like the sound of my voice or something so I just stopped talking...  

I think I discovered the problem: my cat chewed on the wire, so maybe that affected it somehow? 
Anyway, I'm going to pick up a new mic TODAY so I can play the new DLC with people and actually be able to communicate!

Between the lack of a chat window and the fact that most people don't even bother to set up their mic hotkeys I can't possibly imagine how hard one would have to try to find homophobes.

Granted I've played on and off since release and have just hit rank 300, so I don't put in *that* much time, but I hadn't heard a single slur during matches. There was this one Scottish Krogan, but I could barely understand him, not sure one way or the other.

I will say, the one nice thing about mic-phobia on PCs is that you rarely hear morons making rape jokes or calling anyone rude names, because omg then they'd have to talk.

I don't call people rude names or make rape jokes. Unless they ask me to. Even then, though, weeeeiiiiird.

Good lord, are mic-phobics everywhere on PC. I barely play games where people talk even once. That said, I'm a huge support of gay rights and as such have no trouble playing with anyone. I mostly play Silver because I don't have many things unlocked, but I will play other difficulties if asked.

As a mic-phobe, I have to say, I kinda find this offensive.

I almost never use my mic to talk to random people, and I almost always mute other players in multiplayer games. Hearing whining teens or having to listen to languages you don't even understand is just annoying.

Besides, if I wanted to talk to strangers I'd be out socializing instead of gaming. Hell, the only reason I've opened my mouth in ME3 MP is because it still doesn't have text chat. Why this is the case is the biggest mystery of 2012.

So think about that the next time you decide to verbally ASSAULT my minority (majority?)... mic-phobephobes.

Lol It was totally fine, I too kept forgetting to check back and add new names even though the bioware forums blows up my gmail box soo bad I had to filter to a special folder for forum messages. AgentStark, not only have I explained myself thoroughly numerous times (I've probably answered your question, or some version of it, on every other page of this thread) but I've also kept my cool despite being trolled to no end. 

But honestly, I'm getting a bit fed up.

Quite frankly, I don't owe you an explanation. 
Do you know how many pointless, repetitive, or asinine threads I see pop up on this forum EVERY DAY? 
And what do I do? Nothing. 
I suppose I *could* go into those threads and whine and complain and ask the OP why they decided to make ANOTHER thread about how the Krysae needed to be nerfed or some nonsense but I DON'T because I believe in live and let live.

I don't know why you singled out me and my thread; I didn't break any forum rules by creating this and the moderators have expressed their support for the purpose of this thread. 

You want to know why I created this thread?
Because for the past four hours, I was having a blast playing Mass Effect with some cool people (JusticarFlareon, Frostedwing, Blkrose Kitty and Afro Tyler) who I met BECAUSE OF THIS THREAD.
That, alone, makes it all worth it and validates my original purpose. 

Maybe instead of wasting your time posting in this thread you could play some Mass Effect?

I used to run with group of awesome guys in Call of Duty (still friends with most of them, but we don't really play CoD anymore)...we called ourselves F*gs with Guns haha.  One night we were playing with some guy from Louisianna who was just going off on us all match for being gay.  He actually told us he would have relations with a goat, but not another man, cuz he ain't no f*g.

Needless to say we were very unfriendly that night

Goats are really cute (http://tinyurl.com/79t6pun (just a pic of a cute goat, guys!)) but... no. Just... no. 
 
Oh and I did a platinum run yesterday (we got partial extraction my very first time! ) and I was surprised how easy it was with a good team! So if any of you guys (or girls) feel like playing later tonight, I'll be on!

The reason that wouldn't work is because that's discriminating against a group of people without a valid reason.
If you bothered to read the OP, you'd realize that this thread isn't about discriminating against straight people (in fact, most of the guys I play with from this thread are straight (but gay friendly!) it's about wanting to play a game with people who will be respectful of others and have fun together.
