People still don't understand why gay players might want to band together? Or why gay individuals in any interest group might want to band together?

Only half of the phrase "you're no different from me! Your sexual orientation doesn't matter at all" is true. The truth is, homosexuals are different from heterosexuals, even if it isn't in a bad way, and that scares people enough to incite vitriolic speech and persecution. How many of you live in America and can honestly say being gay doesn't make you any different in society's eyes than being straight? Why is "that's gay" an accepted insult implying something is stupid? Society has serious problems with the way it treats underrepresented minorities, so I don't call them out for being "sexist" when they want to identify with their affinity group.

So play on guys, I hope you find a good group you can play and be happy with. And I commend every LGBTQIA individual for having the strength and courage for putting up with the way our society treats them.

You might want to go to the Fight for the Love thread in the ME 3 forums and drop your tag there as well. Most of the posters are queer, though I don't know how many are doing MP.

The thing is for me it is not intended as a homophobic slur, maybe the expression originated that way but i know in my heart of hearts that i do not mean it that way. However you will be deprived of getting to know me because sadly the X-Box and PC divide us.

A lot of different people have explained why a thread like this is a good idea, but here's how I see it: this is a social network for Bioware fans... so why is it weird to want to socialize with certain people I know I'll get along with?

After having a couple random teammates say things like "that's gay" and throw around the F word, I decided I'd rather form a team of players who I can have fun with and not feel insulted (even if they weren't calling me out personally--since they didn't know I'm gay--I was still offended)

Ah, okay, that makes sense.
I was thinking about multiplayer the way I play it - without a mic and with public lobbies.

If you're looking for a player to talk to as well as play multiplayer, than a thread like this is a good idea.

Don't have much use for a gender, race or sexuality specific group myself although I can see the appeal of hanging out with people you share something with. I just want to kill reapers in style, besides if I was part of a gay group I would get kicked out for making too many quotes stolen from jack.

I quite like it myself. I dunno, I just like how it sounds and it's more... inclusive? But I get that a lot of people don't like it.

So two gaymers from this thread and I just dominated Cerberus in back-to-back Gold matches. If anyone else wants to get in on this action, let me know...! 

Oh, and to all of the trolls who jumped down my throat and assumed I was being exclusive: we let a random person (who could have been a hetero homophobe for all we know!) play with us as well. So please stop complaining about how stupid it is that I want to create a "gay's only group". That was never my intent! I had more fun playing Mass Effect with people I met on the BSN than I would have playing with randoms and THAT'S why I created this thread.

Why do you think a gay group would kick you out for saying things like that? 
I think it's awesome! I'd rather have an enthusiastic teammate than a boring, silent teammate!

I have several "queer" friends and they've graciously educated me on things like the gender binary and queer theory... But I don't personally identify as queer, just gay. Although I love the idea behind "queer" and I am totally supportive of those who identify as such!!!

Whaaat? I thought you did a great job! Seriously! I'd play again with you anytime Although you should consider getting a mic! It's a lot easier to coordinate attacks if you can communicate effectively with your team! =)I love it when my teammates are like "phantom by the stairs!" or something like that cause I know that's my cue to go to town with a stasis bubble! It makes me feel really important, not gonna lie plus it's also nice to have mics so we can compliment each other on an impressive headshot or congratulate one another after a smooth match!

I will definitely add you! Those are two of my favorite classes to play with! I normally use an Asari Adept and I love it when I stasis bubble an enemy and my teammate blows off his stationary head! I'm not weird about "stealing kills", either. In fact, I find it incredibly helpful. Especially against those darn Phantoms!
