Count me in as being an attention seeking homosexual, too!  Why, just by stating that I'm gay means I'm shoving it in everyone's face!  Straight people flaunt it all the time and so can I! 

I'm sick of random haters, too.  It ruins the game.

I've been playing since release (on PC) and I have not heard a single homophobic slur. Is it really that common on consoles or are they exaggerating?

From what I've heard, more people use mics on consoles than PCs, so there's already a greater likelihood of it happening. 

And I'm not exaggerating. It just so happens that I've had bad luck. Some people might never hear any sort of slur but I've heard people say the F word numerous times, been called the F word twice, heard the N word several times and even had to listen to someone make a joke about lynching black people before I left the lobby.

I've never heard homophobic or racial slurs on ME3 and it's a reason that I've played the MP off and on for so long. I'm a COD guy but after so many years of being called the N word(I'm not even a black man, I just have a deep voice and I'm from NY) and having to deal with ignorance directed to every race, color and creed, I gave up. Straight and gay-friendly. I almost always avoid lists, but I understand why this one is important - and if you don't get why someone would want to take steps to play in an environment that is free from verbal abuse and hate speech, I imagine you probably need to go back to kindergarten.

I'm by no means following the debate in this thread in detail, but I'll throw in my two cents real fast. If I have to look at straight couples holding hands, kissing, and having sex on the kitchen table in TV shows, movies, and advertisements because it's in just about everything to the point of being unavoidable, then a straight person (under the assumption that they don't mind said man/lady sexy time) has no right to whine and moan about us platonically holding hands or getting a little media exposure ourselves.

That's it, that's all. I'm probably not even going to reply to anyone quoting me on that either. Just going to throw that opinion of mine out into the ether and not look back.

Let's play some videyagaems.

exaggerating, big time. On the Ps3 hardly anyone uses a mic, and when they do, it's not to yell homofobic stuff. Also (serious question), how do guys know you are gay anyway?

How do you know your straight? Some people I feel it comes naturally and some people it takes awhile to accept and discover. It's different for everybody. I felt like I went through stages of changing, and then finally phases of acceptance.

In my experience on the 360, not even remotely exaggerated. Any time I play more than one match in a sitting, someone is going to erupt in homophobic and/or racial slurs.

The very first mp game I played they started dropping the f word several times.  And I play on ps3.

Haha THANK YOU! I feel like a broken record, answering the same questions over and over... I created this thread cause I just wanna play some Mass Effect with cool people! Speaking of which, anybody up for some Platinum runs? I had a date tonight but the guy stood me up so now I'm gonna play Mass Effect and emotionally eat candy
