May be a little late, but since someone else necroe'd, I'd like to ask this question: why would you be pro-gay? I mean, how can you be gay-friendly? That's like saying someone's bananan-friendly. Alright, cool, but what does it matter?

I really don't see the point in this. Are gays/bis so accustomed to being hated that friendly people are something to seek out online? In that case, from what messed up community do you come from?

As much as I disagree with his beliefs that homosexuality is wrong/evil/a sin (my personal belief is frankly I really don't care what anyone is as long as they're a good, down-to-earth person), responding with equally nasty comments probably isn't the best way to go about things. 

Should he/she just have said nothing? Absolutely, their comment was uneccesary, and whether intentionally or not, also inflammatory and offensive, and as such IMO should just be deleted by a mod before things spiral out of control, but responding with racial remarks isn't the appropriate option either IMO.

(Just to clarify once more, I don't agree with their position, so before anyone says I'm defending them, I'm not).

They get discriminated against a lot in many places, so I would assume they don't want that happening in thier gaming.

And @Sirian: Meh. I'm not sure of my own sexuality, but I sure as hell don't care if someone uses homophobic slurs. I just sigh at their lack of intelligence and move on.

LOL- ok I hope they remember that policy the next time a gamer is screaming "OH THAT SYNC KILL IS SO GAY WTF!"..or "just kick that n00b he's a ****". All things I've heard over the mic. There is zero wrong with people of like mind wanting to play with like mind and I think you have it backwards. It isn't that we allies are PRO- we're supporters and also those that don't have to think too hard to accept another person for not being a carbon copy of themselves. 

What if some gay gamers just want to be in an environment with like minded people where they can joke around in a party and not get into a heated debate because a party member "is against it!". 

And you know- if anyone really doesn't like the idea of Z player trying to find other Z players to have fun with I have to say get a life. Why expend the few minutes to post in a thread like this which is simply a search for friends "why? oh why? why can't you just play huh? why?". Most "questions" on this thread are disingenuous.

Ah, alright. I gotta admit I use the word gay in that way myself sometimes, simply because it's such common language nowadays. I also find it hard to believe that people are offended by it, but then again, I find it hard to believe people are offended by homosexuals aswell. Oh well, question answered, thanks. Lets quit this derailing now.

Most people who throw around f** and stuff like that don't mean it in an anti homosexual way. It is unfortunate, but the word has become more of a "your an idiot" or "your being an ****hole" type of thing.

I find it silly to be offended by it. Unless someone is really trying to use it in the homophobic sense.

There is nothing wrong with being gay, it is quite natural actually. But to have to have parades, and shout it out every opportunity you get is just plain silly; your asking for it.

I am not gay myself but I have a couple of really good friends that are gay, and they aren't the types to "take pride" in it, and let everyone else around them know that they are in fact gay.

A lot of gay people are simply asking to be made fun of, or attacked simply because they seem to think being gay is like a badge of honour or something that rises them above the rest of us who aren't.

Get over yourselves.
