Ok, I know that there is supposed to be something that you can mark in Ostagar for the Mabari Dominance quest.  My question is, does anyone know what it is and where exactly it is at?

Pretty sure there isn't. I've never seen a Landmark ____. What makes you believe there is?

The Prima Guide says there's a landmark woodpile there, but I never found it.

I'd say it does not exist. I made an effort to explore the whole map the first time around, and use TAB extensivley.

Maybe this one will be present in Return to Ostagar?

But I am pretty sure there is nothing...

It's in the Kocari Wilds...the Landmark Tree IIRC. Makes no sense for me to be there, but i think I saw it there...I think.

There isn't one. And if there was, you wouldn't be able to use it since you can only have dog during the Tower portion.

That don't make sense because you can't even take Wardog into there? Unless it is going to be a part of RtO but even then it don't make sense because it is supposed to be RtO not RtKW

The logical location would surely be on the other side of the bridge near the Tower of Ishal where Wardog obviously can be taken during the Tower assault.

There are no Mabari Landmarks in Ostagar (at least the original starting Ostagar) and there is no Mabari Landmarks in the Kokari Wilds either. The landmarks in the Kokari wilds are part of a quest in the wilds. Most guides on the net are crap.

Supposedly this is from a 'official' strategy guide. Either way, any gamer will tell you those guides are not always 100% accurate.

Sounds like something that was cut or perhaps simply an error on Prima's part.

Those strategy guides are always written from 'near-launch' versions of the game, so they can be published at the same time, and that's where the discreprencies comes from.

Yep, it's no surprise that the strategy guide would be wrong about something like that.

Just another reason why strategy guides are a complete waste of money.

since it looks as if the RtO doesn't have a spot for the mabari, I'll try the other locations in the game and maybe the Dominance quest will be complete without the RtO landmark, maybe it's true and that spot was removed for some good reason (maybe it didn't work that well, and they couldn't get it to work in game) anyway i'll let other know if it will work after i complete it

Maybe you have to have your hound 'selected' as the main party member in order to find it (as I've checked EVERYTHING and not found it, because he's with Duncan)...supposedly a woodpile somewhere around the center of camp (according to several websites), which you mark as you're heading over to light the beacon. Helps with the horde-fights on that side. *shrugs* Of course, this is mainly an assumption, as for the obvious reasons stated previously....I'm just heading into the Wilds now; missed a few dominance spots the first play-through, so want them all this time.

I'll update if it works out. :-)

**UPDATE:  Gack.  *groans*

Apparently, they have just been wasting a lot of time and effort for some of us gamers whom prefer to find everything there is to find; so much mis-information out there.  I've found too many sites claiming the 'woodpile' is one of the spots in Ostagar, and have spent way too much time and effort searching with both my character, and my hound (human noble origin) as the lead party member (though I don't remember having to do that the first time through last year)....finally found that someone actually asterisk'd at the bottom of their 'dominance' list that it never actually existed, though it's listed in the official DA:O walkthrough/guide as being a viable spot....it's been cleared up on the official EA site, apparently, as faulty, as well.  Also...the number of spots range from nine to 12, depending on which site you visit...*sigh*
Crap!  Augh....all the issues I've had with Steam/DA: Ultimate already (lost 16 hours of play and all savegames/characters from a corruption that came from nowhere whilst playing; then spent two days trying to figure out how to get around it, after un/re-installs failed to work!  Couldn't even log onto Steam website through any of three browsers (I know, right?  WTF!); got an 'error' page telling me to remove a noinstall.dat file that I could not find ANYWHERE).  Finally get it all sorted, only to have several bugs that weren't there previously, and couldn't even edit my character to my satisfaction; had to DL the standalone character creator, do it there, then import...and now this huge time-waster....seriously starting to consider this game a source of resentment rather than pleasure.  <_<

So.  After that massive digression/rant.........no; there is no woodpile to p*ss on in Ostagar.  *fume*
