Mordin
Thane
Kelly - not as much, but she gave me my fish back. I fed them manually as a method of respect.
Grunt - At first I thought he was dead, k?
Legion
Shep - Before I saw the breath scene and realised that was all in his imagination
Deaths that didn't emotionally effect me:
Anderson. I dunno why but I felt indifferent about it.
Funny how all the deaths were characters from ME2, right?

The epicness of curing genocide, plus the way he went out and how it was shown. So amazing.
"had to be me"
Read that in mordins voice 10 times and tell me you dont start watering up.

Legion was next for me and I got choked up and nearly cried for him.
Anderson... balled my eyes out just for the line before he died, "I'm proud of you child." the reading and Hale's reaction sold it for me in a way I didn't think possible.
And at the end when Abigail Shepard chose Synthesis and sacrificed her cold-hearted **** self to try to leave the galaxy better than she left it.
This game is a real emotional rollercoaster and that's before you even get to the reactions some have to the endings.

Aside from that , Mordin , Thane and Legion had the endings they deserved in a herioc manner. I just wished the rest of us would've get the same courtesy...

Thane's death was expected, but I didn't see the prayer coming. That was when I burst into tears.
Grunt I was sad, but mostly I thought that this was a great way for him to go down and I was immensely proud of him.
As for Shep's death...well...that left me incoherent for a day, and I'm still recovering, heh.

2.Tali(I didn't have enough reputation on my first run through Rannoch alright). Incredibly sad.
3.Thane, just because he came so close to putting that POS Kai Lend down like the dog he was, even as a terminally ill drell.
4.Grunt's "last stand".
5.Legion-the "does this unit have a soul" comment. Yes Legion.
6.Kelly. The email came through and I was like, "no, why didn't I tell her to get a new name!"

Mordin for him being so at peace since he knew the Krogan had a chance. I have a really strong fear of death ( Who doesnt? ) I'm almost envious he was ready to accept it.
Thane because he was a good friend in 2. One of my sniper buddies. His religious talks were fascinating and comforting for my fear of the afterlife. Watching him die only reminded me of my grandpa dying of lung cancer. Even one of my friends texted me when he got to that point in the game to check if I was okay.
Legion. I never thought I'd cry for a robot. Especially since I barely had him in my playthrough of 2 because I wanted survivors. I'm glad he got the answer to his question though. I never expected Tali to be friends with him. Tali's voice actress was amazing for this game and that ending was very well done.
Samara almost made me cry but then I saw that Paragon interupt. I try to play mostly renegade with paragon choices sprinkled in. Her's was the quickest I hit the trigger. "No dammit I lost too many people not you too."
And of course Anderson.....I wish Shepard could've died right next to him. Just two beaten up soldiers enjoying the view.

I felt bad about leaving grunt to die - I don't think I needed him to help me run away... I can run faster than the reapers can shamble along after me. It felt contrived and pointless that he had to stay behind, so if he had died, I wouldn't have been sad, but angry at the bad writing.
Thane: Thane shouldn't have died. The three of us goddamn stood there and watched him fight and get fatally wounded without lifting a damn finger to help him - furthermore thane had the gun to his head AND DIDN'T PULL THE TRIGGER. If thane had simply put the bullet in his head: The alliance would have secured the citadel before the reapers even knew it was the catalyst, since it was kai leng's plot armor that allowed him to beat you on Thessia and steal the Prothean VI.
More bad writing.
Mordin: I couldn't help but the feel whole time as we're talking about him going up there being suicide I was thinking: If only mordin had a pair of those cerberus rocket boots... Mordin's death was the only one I felt was suitably heroic, only a tiny bit forced, so it was good enough.
Legion: It was never adequately explained why he needed to die in order to copy data and send it to the others - Honestly it felt more contrived than both of the other two, it was just obscured in a meaningless and technical explanation that fell short. Kasumi didn't even die but her death was more believable.
Anderson's pseudo indoctrination death was the only one that it felt appropriate I couldn't avoid, and his last words were well written (Even if they hacked out a large portion of it, youtube it.)

When Kai Leng stole the data and you are defeated you hear the Lieutenant over the radio, she sounds like a frightened child and is asking if Shepard made it to the temple and got the artifact with so much hope in her voice, then she's killed and a soldier starts asking the same question as a reaper descends upon them.
The child like hope in their voices, essentially asking if their sacrifice wasn't in vain, that they died for a reason and saved their home world, and the fact that they would never know the answer really got to me. The High pitched screams that cut off suddenly make it even worse.

I was choking up for Mordin, but that was more of a "Dammit. Godspeed, Mordin" than it was actual sadness.

Thane was sick though. He wasn't going to last long anyway. And if you ignore him he actually dies in bed off camera I think. I'm upset too you don't do anything to help him. But at the same time it's cool that even if he's sick he fights.
