Mass Effect has never made me cry.
But Legion and Anderson gave me serious lumps in the throat, and when you're talking to Garrus about heaven, and when you do the paragon interrupt that has Shep saying something like "And Garrus, if you make it and I'm looking down from above."...
I will admit I was blinking tears away. Not full-fledged crying but, man, that scene was touching.
Which deaths made you wanna cry?

My "in the moment" thoughts right after Mordin's conclusion:
I... I am sorry Mordin. I could not save you.
Why did I have to trade a friend's life for a whisper of hope?
"Had to be me."
When I'm done we'll meet on the shores of eternity, you crazy Salarian. I'll bring a bucket of seashells.

I like to joke to my friends that I cry at some sad parts in video games, but I never actually do. The most i get is a remorseful feeling in my gut.
But I'm not afraid to say that ME3 had made me flat out cry. Not sniffle a bit, but actually sob so much that I had to drop the controller and walk away to regain composure.
The only scene I cried at was the one where Anderson and Shepard were on the citadel.
To go from such an Adrenaline High when you're flat out running to the conduit, with stuff exploding around you, and reaching rock bottom as you watch Anderson drift in and out of consciousness, and then seeing Shepard stumble forward, bleeding to death, trying to activate the Cruicible, saying "I can't... I don't know how t-"
That moment right there just got me, so badly. I knew Shepard was going to die. I was expecting it. But to be that painful to watch. Especially just after the heartbreaking conversation with Anderson.

I was really invested with Mordin's and Legion's sacrifices.
For a time I thought Grunt was going to die because I had saved the Rachni Queen in ME1 and was half ready to restart my character from scratch to change that. Was happy to see he survived.
Thane was a pretty strong scene as well. With the prayer and all (even though I'm not religious, i respect Thane's beliefs). Those are the only ones who died with me close by before the last sequence of the game.
Before Hackett called to say the Crucible wasn't working, Anderson's passing touched me as well. Was expecting Shepard to pass away before the rescue team arrived, I was ok with that, I'd made my peace and I was still sad.
Then.... well if you've played the game you know what happens next. that's when I weeped for the franchise. All the next playthroughs I'll do, I stop before the point of no-return (aka attacking the illusive man's base).

I cried like a little girl with Mordin's death. It was something terrible and beautiful at the same time.
"Would have like to run test on the seashells"
That line broke my heart :´(
Yes, Mordin is tops in every way - even with his death scene. *sob* Inn order (sort of):
- Mordin
- Thane/Anderson/Legion

The boy dying in the shuttle at the beginning. He looks like my son so I had an instant connection.
Mordin: "Had to be me. Someone else would have gotten it wrong."
Thane: Him lying on his deathbed didn't get me. It was the prayer reading.
Tali: Committing suicide after taking off her mask
Seeing Joker in Shep's "flashback" of his friends.
The overall ending. Because you know what? I loved it!! Screw the haters! "Tell me again about the Shepard" "Okay, one more time"

Anderson almost made me shed man tears. I can't even listen to the "I'm Proud Of You" track on the OST without being extremely sad.

Legion made me tear up. "I know, Tali, but thank you. Keelah se'lai." So many messages within that single line plus a tragically beautiful shot of Legion falling to its knees before the Rannoch sunset? Just...beautiful.

Grunt when I thought he was going to die. (Appreciated that it came down to loyalty. This is how you properly use prior choices, Bioware)
Mordin really got me close. That was powerful, and seeing him die in such a content state.
Thane: Not as much, but because I made it very clear that he was already close to death, so it was nice that he got to go out as a warrior. The prayer for Shepard almost got me though.
Legion: Again, good stuff. Seeing that he used his newfound individuality to give that gift to his people was amazing.

DUDE How did Grunt die? I saved the queen and he made his last stand. But came out covered in blood after he went off the cliff. I feel bad for all you guys who lost him as well. After losing Mordin, Thane, Legion and Anderson I don't think I could have lost another. And surprisingly the Illusive Mans fall from grace made me a little sad. I'm nearly as ruthless as he was, we might not have seen eye to eye on some things but over all I liked his character a lot.

None of them made me cry, but the ones that made me the most emotional were Mordin, Grunt (when I thought he was dead, before he came staggering out of the cave and made me laugh by asking about food), and I guess Thane, even though I knew he was going to die.

Ah, I keep forgetting them! Thane to, I found the fact that he was saying a prayer for me very touching.

For me, Mordin, Thane, Legion, and I feel REALLY stupid about my last one...Kal'Reegar in the email. I felt like SUCH a baby over that one.
Oh and though not cry or tear up, every time I saw the memorial on the Crew Deck, I stopped for at least a second.

To hell with all of that; Saren. Saren's death just made me so emotionally distraught I didn't know what to think. Perfect anti-villain, trying to do right by what he thought was the only way out (due to reaper indoctrination or otherwise) but besides that even after he died his body was still just a tool that had to be demolished.
That or the Illusive Man.. Martin Sheen strikes me in a weird way.
Then again, I have a thing for anti-villains...

I remember reading about Garrus' family in the Shadow Broker DLC and wondering what was going to happen with that. Sooooo glad they made it out..

Oh God, I'm sorry Tali. So, so damn sorry. I never meant for this to happen...
Dammit, Bioware I'm a grown man. I'm not supposed to tear up at computer games!

Man just reading over this thread is enough to make me all sad again.
Mordin's death was the worst for me, especially after watching this version of it on youtube (I could never play it that way; it's hard for me to even watch it T_T).
Legion, Thane, and Anderson all had me blinking back tears as well. I loved the use of Vigil's theme, too. Very touching and sad.
