This is going to sound odd, but you remember the Asari troops on Thessia?

When Kai Leng stole the data and you are defeated you hear the Lieutenant over the radio, she sounds like a frightened child and is asking if Shepard made it to the temple and got the artifact with so much hope in her voice, then she's killed and a soldier starts asking the same question as a reaper descends upon them.

The child like hope in their voices, essentially asking if their sacrifice wasn't in vain, that they died for a reason and saved their home world, and the fact that they would never know the answer really got to me. The High pitched screams that cut off suddenly make it even worse.

You know what, now that you've mentioned it, I too felt so bad after that scene. Just as I'm hearing them over the radio, and I'm thinking to myself "Oh ****, I've ****ed up, **** **** **** **** ****." And the Reapers come down.

I didn't feel like I failed a lieutenant and her squad. Felt like I failed a planet.

The other one is Thane's death. I shed manly tears. And Mordin's too.

Legion, less so initially, because I thought he'd just left to upload the code. Then I realised he died. =(

Richard L Jenkins.
Despite being level 60 the guy never had a chance. He made all red shirts proud.

Shepards demise bad ending in ME2 felt more impactful than what happened in ME3.

Mordin because I knew I couldve saved him yet I truly played with my gut and asked myself I might want thr salarians in my side. By the time i realized it was too late i felt remorse that i was responsible for his death.

The most sad scenes for me were Legion's death and Fall of Thessia. And I had a couple of silent minutes staring at memorial board after Miranda's death and banter with drunk Tali.

Mordin, Thane and Grunt were also very emotional scenes, but there were strong sense of serenity in them. Thane and Mordin died proud, achieving their goals, without any regret, one was very old, another was terminally ill .Grunt gone out with a bang, like a true warrior, also very fitting of him.

The last talk with Anderson was also done extremely good, especially if you listen to some cutted lines - very nice voice acting.

Last rites with Thane was difficult, Thessia was pretty bad although the prothean beacon wasn't entirely unexpected, that in itself is making it difficult for me to replay. When I try to start a completely new game at ME1 I get stuck at the first meeting with the council thinking "you duplicitous b****" and I can't continue.

Mordin's death reduced me into a puddle of sadness and happiness. I was crying and smiling at the same time. Crying because the amazing Mordin was passing away, yet smiling because he was giving up his life for such a wonderful reason: curing the Genophage, changing the mistake he regrets he took part in. Singing his scientist Salarian song made the scene really hit home with me.

Legion's death made me sad, but also made me feel a great deal of pride and happiness. When Legion replied to Tali, he said "I know" not "we know" as Geth units do... he had a soul, he became his own being.

Edit: And Thane's death... I knew his death was inevitable but it didn't make it any easier. Even to his final moments, he was fighting to protect those he cared about. Standing beside him at his death bed, reciting that prayer with his son Kolyat, finding out the prayer was in fact for Shepard... made me all sniffly and sad. :( Thane really cared about Shepard, even to the very end.

I never knew I could be this emotionally invested into characters in a series... kind of sad to admit, but when they died, I felt like I was losing close friends. :(

I think it makes it worse at the end that you don't even have the choice of destroying the Reapers but leaving other synthlife in place, it did for me anyhow.  That was definately what my shepard had been fighting for, everyone to live and let live and self determine.

Mordin's was perfect, a fitting way for an old man to conclude his demons...

Thane's was rather nice to, I'll make an exception for the femsheps who are somewhat furious about the lack of romance impact though.

And Anderson... =(

I think Udina's the only one I've gone "hell yeah!" to >_> *tears of joy* I told you no one stabs me in the back, ******.

Most definitely. Some part of me wants to believe these indoctriation theories... how that is Harbinger speaking to you, claiming that if you destroy the Reapers, you will also wipe out all synthetic life just to sway you from taking the destroy choice...

If you go Paragon and unite the Geth and the Quarians, that pretty much proves that synthetic life and organic life can coexist. Yes, they fought for a while, but it was all a complete misunderstanding, proven from those archive vids when you are in the Geth network. United, they help, learn, and grow with each other without having to wage war.

The Reapers think they know it all... psh. x]

I remember them, got all choked up and felt like a right git afterwards for not saving them; really wanted to help them. The whole thing just wanted me to crush Kai Leng, which was what the devs were probably going for, the evil....

Squadmate deaths that stood out most was:
- Mordin, he died well but never before had I wanted seashells so much :crying: (made me chuckle that Eve wants to name her and Wrex's son after him though lol)
- Legion, even though at first I didn't even realise he died until the big geth prime type guy told me.

Thane made me sad, espically finding out that prayer was for Shepard, but since we knew he was dieing from the get go it wasn't as sad as Mordins or Legions. Grunt and Kasumi made be sad until I realised that they survived lol, the rest also survived.

These weren't party n.p.c. deaths, but they affected me so I think they belong here. The woman at the Asari embassy who was tryng to send her kid off to Thessia. Most of those crowd conversations changed after awhile. For example, the turian husband/assari wife were no longer in the docking area discussing the possibility of sanctuary after shepard had been to sanctuary. Well for some reason my game got stuck and that woman at the asari embassy continued to be at the asari embassy begging for a way to send her kid off to thessia even after I'd been there and had seen it totally decimated. Every time I was in that area I had to think about her and the kid and the kid being harvested with its grandparents. It got to the point I seriously considered just turning the game off and not even playing through.n

Mordin went out like a bloody champ, but I still cried, Especially when he said "Would liked to have tested sea-shells"

Legion's death felt like a kick in the bollocks When he said

"Does this machine...Have a?"
"Yes..."
*Legion falls over*

(I cried for about 5 minuites)

But Im bloody glad that I didn't allow Legion to get the reaper code, If that happened on my play-through, I would have cried for about an hour and start a new game.

Both Mordin and Thane made me cry. The destruction of Thessia was upsetting, with that bit at the end where everyone is calling out on the radio and Shepard can't get through to them.

Some of the ambient dialogues on the citadel I found very poignant too: the kid in the docks talking to the turian about when her parents are going to get there, and the woman who seems to have dementia talking to the asari in the embassies.

And not exactly a death, but I teared up at Garrus's goodbye speech in London. Shepard and Vakarian, storming the bar in heaven.

The deaths of Mordin, Thane, and Anderson were all sad for me.

But Legion's was the worst of them all for me. I almost teared up during that mission. He was always one of my favorite characters.

And then the ending invalidates their deaths as everyone basically dies anyway.

Shepard and legion got me bad, as there was that sense this is out of my control and there is nothing I can do about it.

If garrus died ... i ... I dont know what I would of done. I would be an emotional wreck thats for sure.

Charr: the sadness of her asari wife broke my heart.
Mordin: I cried the whole scene when it was obvious he was going to die, but I cried even more in the exact moment he did it :(
Anderson: perfect scene. Perfect.

I also cried when I realized my chosen LI had survived. I'm sorry, but after all those things they told each other, I don't think he will get over Shepard's death.

Pretty much cried throughout the game, the ending hit me the hardest though. That and the last Garrus talk...

I remember reading about Garrus' family in the Shadow Broker DLC and wondering what was going to happen with that. Sooooo glad they made it out..

I'm sorry.

Did you listen carefully to what Garrus said on the Palaven moon?

"I have a father and a sister down there.."

The Shadow Broker DLC information on Garrus mentions that his mother is sick but is getting treatment. His mother died.

Mordin
The child from earth
Legion
Thane
Grunt (though I did feel no Reaper-soldier could get the best of him, and thank god I was right)
Anderson
Kelly

That's my order. That said, it's hard to decide on it without the music. As incomplete/crappy the ending is, the music makes up a bit for it. And not only there, everywhere the score is awesome. Just because of that, I'm happy that I got the CE.
