Throughout the trilogy, Mass Effect had a variety of small, but awesome NPCs!
For some, we get closure. Shiala is a war asset, Emily Wong had her twitter story.

But for a lot of them we get nothing! This is a real shame!

I my case it is mostly Gianna Parasini:

I know, that she is only a minor NPC and I know that she can die in the first game, but the lack of Gianna Parasini in ME3 makes me seriously sad, almost more so than the ending!

I don't think I missed her, I went very throroughly through the game, but in case I did and someone saw her, please notify me ASAP.

In the mean time, I want to honor the memory of the woman, who always had a job for me and made my heart melt with her blunt manner and sweet, raspy voice <3

I mean, they had Wendy Braun, her VA, in the recording booth, her voice can be heard throughout  the Galaxy, which makes it even more sad and cruel.

(Note that I edited Gianna into that picture. It doesn't actually appear that way in the game!)

A Galaxy without Gianna is a Galaxy not worth saving!

A thread discussing all minor NPCs can be found here!

Emily Wong was killed on Twitter a few days prior to release. Well, they say her official status is "MIA", but her final words seem pretty decisive...

Mmh, you make a good point!

There are a lot of people missing, who have been a nice part of the previous games and we don't hear anything about them, not even through email.

Those personal connections, however small they may have been is one of the things that made Mass Effect special to me, seeing how their lives continue.

I think, I'll make the thread more inclusive :)

I agree these same role characters really gave faces to the galaxy, another 2 characters I didn't hear anything on are Tombs from Akuze (given he's alive)? and Talitha from "I remember me"

I got Refund dude his refund back in ME3! "he's not going away trust me. the sooner ya give him a refund the sooner ya can get back to selling"
Bad@ssfully, That's my Sister!

I'm pretty bumped that none of the characters from Shep's "origin" story are mentioned except for Hannah Shepard who is barely mentioned.

Definitely want to see Talitha and the email from Toombs in ME2 seems to suggest something in the future.

So, I have been thinking.

I have seen people complaining that the Dark Energy plotline was not being touched at all.
Maybe they kept this for a DLC since they made such a big deal out of it in ME2.
Gianna said she was about to investigate something regading Dark Energy.

So I just found a little glimpse of hope :)

Dark Energy DLC featuring Gianna Parasini and a kiss from her for femshep! Pwetty Pwease!

I have just started a fan group for her VA Wendy Braun, which also supports her return as Gianna in ME3 DLC!

Everytime I do that Officer Nelson mission, I keep thinking that one should be Parasini's mission.

Depending on what I heard about Dark Energy plotline, it supposed to be real reason for Reapers existance. However with ME3 devs decided to change it to current "Terminator" like one. Also as I heard ME2 and ME3 were in development same time, that kinda explains why Tali and Re'agar's dark energy plotline not exist in ME3. Maybe also explains why Parasini in game despite Mrs. Braun's name in voice acting list, Parasini cut out from the game with Dark Energy plot line.

Let's hope they change Dark Energy issue and give it in a DLC with Parasini.

WHAT?! so thats why i sometimes searched the Citadel for her for nothing but a waste of time?! because BioWare decided to kill her?!

That is just WRONG!

Now i never got to see how her underground Spy work ended!

Screw you BW! :(

I was pretty disappointed about this.  Gianna was always one of my favorite minor characters in the ME games.  Emily Wong was good too, but at least they sent her out with a bang on Twitter.  Still pretty shoddy treatment, but it was something.  Having Gianna just disappear from the universe without so much as a goodbye is just really lame.

Not to mention, it's pretty sloppy from a storytelling perspective.  Sure, in real life people can just drop out of touch, but stories are supposed to have a narrative arc, and that's as true of side stories as it is of the main plot.  By leaving Gianna out of ME3, Bioware has essentially left her story unfinished, and that's poor writing.

ME3 is generally pretty great, but this is one of those things that just annoys me.

This.

(Does Gianna give FemShep a kiss in ME2? I have two FemSheps, neither of whom received one.  I could only recall ManShep getting one.)

No. He only gives it to Male Shepard and only if you pick paragon reply on the last conversation tree. Can't remember if helping her on ME1 or not changes this however.

Gianna doesn't show up in ME2 if you don't help her in ME1.

She appears on my runs even if you betray her and mentions that.

Maybe we'll see her if there's an Ilium DLC, since that's where we saw her last.

Ain't Illuim fall long before Thessia? If my memory serves either on Palaven or Genophage phase of story.

Yeah, but that doesn't mean an illium dlc is not possible imo. Whether it is before during or after the fall doesn't really change much.
