Just to let you know that the update that occurred on Origin today, has moved the Origin.exe file, shortcut no longer works. In fact I'm unable to find the origin.exe file anywhere on my PC. Image IPB

I'm still trying to get ME3 to work, still no technical support 72 hours+ after promised email.

You have an issue with the Origin update of today, and wait for a technical support email that was promised 3 days ago?

Yes.

Technical support for ME3 that refuses to validate. Yes, I've tried every fix posted both on here and on the Origins site, except the option suggested by one user to use a pirated .exe crack.

And now to top it all, unable to play Dragon Age 2 as Origin is FUBAR from the update.

I'm not aware of any update today. At work now so can't check Origin itself either. It's a scary thought that it messes stuff up for you.

I suggest you uninstall origin and reinstall it. Don't forget to reboot after reinstalling.

I think it was i minor update today for me it has taken 2sec or so. Right when is saw it and realized that origin is doin something it was already finished. I dont think it can cause so much dmg and the exe must be somewhere when origin is running. Try to reinstall Origin

None of the windows search options found the .exe.
I un-installed and reloaded the pre-release version, sadly that pretty much took up the window that I had between jobs, so no playing until later. Sometimes working from home sucks...

Anyway whilst I was at it, and since they'd updated Origin, I decided to re-install ME3 as well. No difference, I'm still stuck watching wheels at the activation screen.

Is this the part where it is doing the RELEASE DATE check? If so.. I let it check, and after no feedback within 1 minute, clicked on the .exe within Origin again and it did the release check again but started up the game right after.

That probably won't help you.

YES!

Ok, I went into the registry, and found....the path line for Mass Effect 3 was corrupted. I erased the line and added a new one with the correct pathway to the ME3.exe and it now runs.

So, the things done to correct the dreaded Activation screen wheel crash that seemed to have relevance.
Disabled Bullguard Heuristics (startup).
Punched holes in the firewall across all ports for ALL .exe programs from Origin and ME3.
Enabled ALL .exe as run as Admin
Used Revo uninstaller so I could use the disks again.
Re-installed ME3 and Origin (7th time lucky)
Regedit the path file to correct pathway.

Now I'm going to spend some quality time playing...well hopefully!

I can walk you through this, we may not need the registry edit.
Tell me what you have done so far...exactly.

So if you had a clean start did you use msconfig for it? Don't bite my head off, some people use other boot editing methods.
Every little detail that you have on what you did and how you did it. Also can you use the disks or does Origin try to load from web.

It is 10:14 am in France. I'll check back on this thread at lunchtime, and then again this evening. If we can arrange to be online together it would be easier.

I've tried everything and I can't get Origin to load. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, checked the pathing, I've gotten on with EA Support and they can't find anything either.
