I love the current ending in its current artistic iteration, and there's a big chance that this "Truth" DLC will either spoil the ending, make it very cliched, or make us distant to it. The current ending makes me feel more involved in the game's story than it ever does. Instead of just ending like a closed story book and leaving it at that, it makes me want to ask more questions. It pulls me back in. I just hope this "Truth" DLC doesn't take away from that charm.

Wrex as savior of the galaxy is fitting.

Except people killed Wrex. Well some did.

I don't think they'd dare to change the PC.

Those people were indoctrinated.... Everyone else kept Wrex alive.

Shep or burn, baby. It's okay to have Shep die in the ending in my book, but first we need an ending.

I kind of agree.

I really like the general mood of the endings - one of desperation and despiar, yet tinged with real hope. And I love the Relays being the key to the Reapers' undoing.

The actual execution of the endings was really poor though. Lack of explanation, three similar choices with no relevance to past actions, and the Normandy crashing because of a plot contrivance and not the Reapers.

Just don't play it then wtf? This dlc is for the thousands of people who have problems with their ending. Just because you don't, doesn't mean anything.

Quick intro: popular theory is that the current ending is an indoctrinated dream sequence. If this is true, then the real ending will be given to us via a DLC allegedly called "The Truth". http://i.imgur.com/xjXdX.png

If so, who will be the player character? Shepard's a cybernetically improved boss, but he/she isn't THAT much of a boss.

My bet is that the DLC will focus much more on Shepard's friends than on Shepard proper.

Thoughts?

EDIT: For the moral concerns about the implications of a DLC ending, there's a whole other thread.

We already have the real ending. Shepard is DEAD, the Normandy wrecked on some planet , Galatic civilization brought pretty much to a halt.
If EA/Bioware is now trying to make us pay fora ending they will become the most hated game developer for thier greed and I for one won't buy any DLC. better Shepard remain dead then Empower such low money grubbing dealings

It this DLC really is what's happening, they better let us play as Shepard. I'd like to finish out Shepard *as* Shepard. I wouldn't mind playing any of the other characters, I'd love to actually, but lets finish Shepard out right.

Hopefully this "free" DLC is what we're lookign for. Much will be forgiven, though it still means they shipped an unfinished game, likely unnecessarily (why bother changing the end in response to leaks relatively close to release?)

The biggest problem is that Bioware made it so that so many characters were "killable" that if they want to do something like that now they are stuck in a corner. It can't be Garrus or Wrex, it could be Liara, but more likely if it were to happen it would be a new guy.

Honestly, I'd be fine with James. Yep, James Vega.

Sounds like a 4chan troll. I'd be astounded if Bioware changed the ending in DLC. It would be a new low. Now you can't even be sure if you bought a game with a real conclusion.

"The Truth" is that the cake is a lie.

I'm pretty sure if it's about the ending, it's going to be Shepard. I love Garrus, Liara and the whole crew, but I'm Shepard. I want to end it with Shepard.

This. :)

I don't think, I hope Bioware wouldn't retcon the ending. If they add something that happens after the ending, that would be awesome in some ways.

I would like to point out something in that picture - the "asari justicar" is redundant since the Asari adept and vanguard have 'asari justicar' training.

My feeling is that a DLC like this would require that you have the perfect ending in order to access it. It ensures continuity with the previous ending and guarantees at least one more playthrough for those without the perfect ending.

I would love such a dlc, but this one ist far too big an far too perfect to be true.
esp. that it's said to be for free, makes me suspicious.. can't imagine that.

Wow, I feel stupid after all the research I've be doing online. Trying to find a solution and this was it the whole time. Well I guess we will get our endings after all and it seems Bioware is giving it to us for free too.

Oh, you poor poor Turian avatar. You shouldn't cry of the little crappy ending. The Tooney will give you a hug.  So don't worry. I think the DLC is telling the truth and we will all be happy in the end. Whether its free or not is up to Bioware and their rages fans right now. I'm wondering however if they ran out of time to finish those endings.
