Doesn't anyone remember the Kane and Lynch fiasco? Gamespot is one of the biggest jokes in gaming journalism.

Irrelevant?

I'd like to see what her response would be if she bought an umbrella expecting it to protect her from the rain, as advertised and expected, only to find out when she opens it that it's full of holes and the handle is broken. Then, when she complains about it is told "this umbrella is my creation! Those holes are art! What you expect from it is irrelevant!"

Right. Looking back, there are even dev statements that contradict what we received. ME3's ending is by all accounts deceitful. It is unexpected in the wrong way, by purposely delivering next to nothing that fans expected in no small part due to the devs' own words. There is no said closure, I have a multitude of unanswered questions, and the endings are only different based on tiny variables that ultimately feel irrelevant anyhow due to the large amount of identical SUCK presented in every possible outcome.

This is not an art created as a way for the devs to express themselves. This is a product created specifically for us to enjoy. However, if you want to call it an expression that I can choose to abstain from purchasing... then sure, go ahead. But don't lie about what it is and expect me to be happy when I find out otherwise.

I love how in the fourth paragraph the author compares Mass Effect fans to the religious extremists that drove Salman Rushdie into hiding.  No, really.  That's just classy.

I can't quite articulate how this makes me feel. All these "journalists" bashing the fans and saying we're just a bunch of whiners. People complain all the time on the internet, but even when I first dropped in to see the reaction I could see this wasn't normal complaining. I had just finished my first play-through and thought I had gotten the bad ending. Turns out...

How anyone can say the ending resolved anything at all makes no more sense than the ending itself. Im not talking about the "tone" of the ending, just the information provided. "Liking" the ending doesn't explain the Normandy, which, no matter your feelings on the ending are, makes very little sense.

I..am...very disappointed in these journalists. I can't fault anyone for liking the ending, but saying it had closure is just...denial. We were meant to "care" about this universe and the characters in it yet wanting to know what happened to Kasumi or Adm. Hackett is crossing the line. How dare we. We should be ashamed for wanting to know what happened to the rest of the Normandy crew or the big ass galactic fleet we spent the whole game building. Such cry-babies we are.

To the ones who bash us for only liking happy endings; one of my favorite movies is The Punisher. How can you say that I only like happy endings if one of my favorite movies is surrounded in death?

I hate bad story-telling is all.
