That said, there should most definitely be an ending where Shep lives and the Mass Relays aren't destroyed even if said ending is darn hard to achieve, which it should be. I mean WTF Bioware, this is what you do your own creation *mind boggles*
And please, PLEASE let us find out what happens to our squad and our LI. I want to see if I get my happy ever after with Kaidan, damn it!

I don't need a happy ending. I need a worthy ending.
Not saying there shouldn't be the happy one, and a bad one for that matter. All types of endings should've been covered.

Agreed. Give us a choice on a happy LI ending.BattleMageMarian wrote...
Yes, I'll admit I want a "happy" ending based upon your choices and how prepared you are...similar to the previous Mass Effect games

You do realize, you get your money's worth in one playthrough. Everyone keeps saying how hard it will be to continue playing knowing 'nothing matters' And? there is plenty of films like Six Sense, The Others, The Orphan, and many others because of knowing the ending it makes it harder to watch again. How is this any different?
Video games are interactive. Movies are not.
To this day the greatest game I've ever played is Fallout 2. Because you can go through litterally dozens of playthroughs and experience it in a completely different way. With different outcomes.
Replayability matters.
This. Another perfect example (parhaps not perfect, but close) Is Fallout New Vegas. You play it however you want, it ends depending on only what YOU do. You have no options handed to you. YOU decide where the story goes. And, what I love about that game... Is that you can reject the governments and powers that be, and forge your own ending, under your rule, instead of under someone else.
Hint Hint, Bioware.
They also don't make day one DLC, and they make their $10 DLC actually worth the money.

Having the option to obtain a happy ending provides the game with more replay value.
They really need to offer up a few different variations on the ending, too. Not just a happy ending, and the "three" junk ones we have now.
I sure would enjoy mixing it up DA:O style. Can't believe BioWare didn't see this as the way to end the game in the first place.

All I need for the ending to be happy is Shepard and Liara being together. They could be stranded together on a lifeless rock using up their last bit of oxygen holding each others hands and I would still be happier then I am now.

Damnit!
That made me laugh, but yes! 100% this! Only with Kaidan.
Though drinking beers and looking at English Bay would be preferable ^.^
I...can't....believe...it's not an option!!!
