The point is, a lot of different endings, including a happy one and including an awful one. That's the point of Mass Effect, not just three different endings which don't depend on your prior choices.

Yes. In Mass effect series, bioware have done a very good job to create each one of the characters and made them all feel so real and so human. We all grow a emotional attachment to them now. As I recall, when illusive man's Dr Eva tries to kill Ash, I went like "NO~!!!! That's it, illusive man!! I am going to hunt you down and cut your ba*** off and sell them to a Krogan!!"
That is why we all want a happy ending for them.

Happy ending... and a house for Tali. Don't forget blue babies and getting smashed with Dr Chakwas celebrating victory. I figured all these statements were made for a reason, afterall.

What they could also add in the happy end are scenes like f.e. (if you make peace) showing Quarians and Geth fighting side by side

Or my favorite:
When the victory is near, a scene where you can see Grunt in melee combat and Garrus with his sniper rifle counting Reaper kills like in LotR.

I want happy ending too. Like the one I've suggested in another topic:

Catalist can provide an option to deactivate all Reapers. Shepard and Anderson will be rescued and stay alive. Reapers will become inactive and harmless. But galactic civilization will be completely responsible for everything it will do in the future.

...Or something similar. Like deactivating Reapers from the Citadel not via Catalist's dialog but via some console. I think BioWare can make a DLC with couple of missions where Shepard learns that Citadel is a hub for controlling all Reapers, and learns how to deactivate them... Anyway, I'm sure there must be a happy ending among all other endings. It's an RPG after all, remember?

Oh, and to all the people that want a new ending, and tell others not to ask for a 'happy' ending, let us remind you we are part of the movement as well, and that isn't going to get the anti-new enders to somehow see the light. Further, the #1 thing most everone wants is decisions/actions mattering, resulting in a variety of endings, of which, a brighter ending sits comfortably under that umbrella.

I support a happy ending with all my heart and soul. As well as sad ending. As well as bittersweet ending. As well as ending with Space Ponies from other galaxy coming to the rescue. I'm sure that among them I will find one that I will like. Meaningful choice is a key.

Yes. A better ending (happy or no) with a satisfying conclusion. It's too vague right now to make any sense out of it. A happy ending would a plus.

Give us the option. Make us work for it. That's all we ask.

I just want and ending that makes SENSE not "Happy"

I want to not be forced to serve an evil illogical geocidal child at the end of a trilogy.
Right now our choices are three different colors of suicide all with a free side order of some form of geocide. It makes the whole ME experiance unenjoyable knowing it ends like this.

It suppose to have 16 different endings. I am sure they can satisfy all of us if bioware really commited to change the ending.

I support happy ending. I also support sad ending, grimdark ending and all other different endings. There should be choice.
And endings should make sense.

I always expected to get a sacrifice-ending, which I totally would've tried out.
it's just that i always wanted the happy end reunion with my LI to be the end of things.

I want a happy ending, but I'd be ok with a sad one too...as long as its a worthy ending to the series.

Please, anything, but the current ending.  Ideally, I want a Mass Effect 2 ending for Mass Effect 3.

I expected options, yes.  Self-sacrifice being one of them.

I expected an ending like Jeremy Jahns describes, , Garrus and Sheppard sit on a beach like Garrus described earlier in the game and overlook a dead reaper corpse and they say 'well, it's going to take some work, but we took earth back', and then Krogan and Turians shaking hands, etc. etc. and then resolution with all the characters.

THAT is an ending.

It would annoy me more if everyone survied and life went on. The whole seris was based around an unbeatle enemy.

The whole 2nd and 3rd game was about sacrifice and
death, doing whatever it took to beat the reapers. It was always going to be a
massive loss to the galaxy; I just wish they had done it in a way that made
sense

But in ME2 you can keep all your squad alive....even thought it's a suicide mission...I don't see why not implement something like that in ME3 aswell

I fully support the option for a "happy" ending to ME3. (And I support making us work for it as well!)

When I started playing ME3 I never expected my Shepard to make it out in one piece, not like she'd have limbs missing or anything - but I did not expect her to be "okay" after everything she's been through with ME1, 2 and finally 3. Not having an LI to lean on I imagine would make it emotionally harsher on her.

I thought my Shep would survive but be left with some serious issues that make living...difficult, at the very least.

What I did not expect was for Hackett to suddenly go "It's not working!" and God!Child to come out of nowhere. Then the multiple endings "choice." One of my friends was so in shock at this point that she just walked in a straight line and got the Synthesis ending; not that it mattered by a great deal.

The multiple endings thing could have been incorporated differently, but I already covered this in writing over here.

They could have done it in a different manner. I never expected rainbows and daisies Bioware, but neither did I expect to have to choose whether my pill is cyanide, arsenic or a nice dose of anthrax.

I think it should be as easy as any other options. It all depends on your choices through out the game.

Here is another example that shows our emotional attachment to the characters
This is the audio mail of Ash's mail to Shepard

I'm using mental license to fill in some of the blanks to make the Destroy Reapers-Save Earth ending the "simple happy" ending. Shepherd survives, as we see. The reapers are gone. The galaxy's fleets are stranded at Earth, which they rebuild into a new galactic capital, using input from all races to develop new technologies that allow viable intragalactic travel without mass relays. After a couple of years, Shepard rescues the crew of the Normandy - either with the help of, or to reunite with, his LI. The geth are sacrificed, but I don't think any ending should be without some hard choices. EDI is gone too, so I would probably also suggest that Joker has died by the time the crew are rescued.

That "simple happy" ending could be combined with a "dark Sci-Fi" Control ending, where the Shepard-Reapers are god-machines which help rebuild galactic civilization. The geth (if alive at the end of the game) are integrated into galactic civilization. The entire Normandy crew, including Joker and EDI, is rescued by a Shepard-Reaper.

Synthesis could then become the "cosmic enlightenment" ending, where the mass relays and Citadel are rebuilt. Shepard's LI reflects on how Shep will always be a part of him/her.
