The trick that let you pretty much max out your skills in ME2, I'm curious if I respec early game now, will I get as many skill points as the game pre-allocates now, or only as much as you would have for level 30, etc?
Do you still get extra skill points if you respec using the ME2 trick?

only as much as you would have for that Level. Seems the game is checking during Map-Transitions how many Skill-Points you have and how many you should have. If the numbers don't add up the game will correct. (remove all Skill-Points/Upgrades you made, leaving you with a blank character (no power-upgrades at all) and all the Skill Points you should have)
Also: i don't think that trick is working in ME3.

No, I mean that I used the skill points trick in ME 2, and as such, seemed to have a lot more skill points in my starting powers for my Adept in ME 3, but I could be wrong. So, I'm just wondering if I should respec, or not risk it, heh.

oh, sorry.
It seems you have more Talent Points in ME3 than in ME2 Period.
At the end of ME2, without using any tricks and on Level 30, you should have gained 51 Points to upgrade your Powers.
As a Level 30 Character in ME3, you should have 61 Points.
so you shouldn't lose anything if you respec. You can also save the game before undoing the TalentPoints
