I guess someone saw the end of Akira and/or the Matrix 3 and tried hard to "top" it, with a little bit of 2001 thrown in there for good measure. I'm sure it was meant to honor the sci-fi classics that inspired the series. Nothing like sacrificing myself so Joker and EDI can procreate. Joy. Rapture. Can't wait to replay the ending to find out what I get for making the other two choices.

Hehe, I actually saw Matrix 3 parallels as well, especially as in both cases you could improve the ending even by just cutting it and have none at all......

Maybe it's because I saw it when I was a kid, but I didn't hate the Matrix Revolutions ending. I was too busy swooning over the final fight

I actually didn't even know Neo died until years later.

Eh I have to admit I dont even remember anymore, I only remember 2 things about it still:
1) Superpowers in Zion makes tons of sense in the story, real.
2) Movie sucked, dont watch again, better watch Matrix 1 twice the next time you watch the trilogy.

It's been years for me too, but I thought Reloaded was okay.  Revolutions was just... boring, even that big war scene.  I did really enjoy that last fight though, for nostalgia if nothing else. 

And yeah, I'm fairly sure Neo died... I think that was followed up on in the Matrix online, which I never got around to playing.

Its a great game except its last 5 minutes.

The first 95% of the game gets a very solid 8.5 from me. It's very good, barring a few minor hiccups.

The last 5% (Ending choice, following cutscenes) get a negative zero. That's how bad I despise them.

Like they haven't already accomplished that with the current ending. Changing the ending will make alot of fans happy and restore some faith in the company who's games we've all fell in love with over the years. It takes alot to stand up and admit you made some mistakes bioware's done it before over DA2 and a certain mass effect novel. its still not to late for this to fix itself be it by DLC or other means and as i said, i have faith they'll come through for the fans.

The core game is an 8 to an 8.5 however it's completely negated by the end. The ending is so bad it could kill the entire franchise for you.

Maybe instead of a child as the catalyst, Bioware should have paid for the rights to use Theresa from Fable II. And it would have been awesome to have Hannah and Reaver comment on Shepard's decision.

The game is absolutely amazing, an emotional rollercoaster ride, great gameplay, story, EVERYTHING.

Except the 10 minutes. But still, worth it.

I would say that the first 5-10 minutes are also bad. The part from demo is still just a dull unimpressive tutorial and being forced to continue right to the next mission made me worried... Fortunately after that the game opened up and became good, sometimes very good, mostly, a couple of balls dropped... Right until the last 5-10 minutes.
