An excerpt from an interview with Mr. Hudson in January: "This story arc is coming to an end with this game. That means the endings can be a lot more different. At this point we're taking into account so many decisions that you've made as a player and reflecting a lot of that stuff. It's not even in any way like the traditional game endings, where you can say how many endings there are or whether you got ending A, B, or C"

This is so cute.

this thread needs the quotes too where he and other guys from bioware promised "closure" or "definitive" ending...and now Casey says he wanted to leave the ending open for interpretation

He's right, it's not between A,B, and C. Instead, you follow paths A, B, and C and end up with pizza, unicorn, and Chuck Testa.

ME3's ending is not the ending. The DLC they're going to release will be the ending. There's too much opportunity for them to make that at this point, I bet that's what he is referring to.

Wait "Citadel is bigger" than before? Reduced to five rooms, only hub that's in ME3 and it's bigger? What the hell?

I just realized, that those are the component HD video cables' colours.

I guess he came up with the idea when setting up his new TV

He went from saying "we won't pull a Lost" to saying they purposefully left the ending vague and open to interpretation so the game wouldn't be forgotten. Uhmm..........yeah ok.

I wanted an ending, not component cables.

We won't know that until it is announced.

"Whether you're happy or angry at the ending, know this: it is an ending.
BioWare will not do a "Lost" and leave fans with more questions than
answers after finishing the game, Gamble promised.

'You'll get answers to everything. That was one of the key things.
Regardless of how we did everything, we had to say, yes, we're going to
provide some answers to these people.' "

When I got to the end and saw the 3 choice thing I was offended at that statement from Casey as well. I do not think that what shipped with the game is the actual ending though. I think it is 'an' ending. That is if you do not get the dlc or expansion or whatever that you would still have 'an' ending, but that the actual ending takes place after that and you will find that it did not really happen.

Perhaps if you take the control or merge path it could imply that you have fallen to indoctrination and the destroy path was the path of keeping your mind whole. This could have an impact on the actual end (yet more choices you made that will have impact on the really real end). I am not sure, but I believe that Casey would not have set himself up so specifically unless he knew better.

Someone needs to ask him to address this one head on. I would be interested to see if he can talk his way out of this one...

Oh dear, I just laughed my ass off. In the middle of the library. The guy next to me asked what was so funny. I just muttered, Mass Effect 3 ending. He just looked at me and said, "Hold the Line", and went back to his books. I think I just recieved a sign from the spirit of Kirrahe.

Thanks for bringing this topic up. I was searching for his previous statement but I don't have to do it anymore :)

I will wait with my judgement over Hudson till the next single player DLC. If it's not an ending DLC (and not free) then Hudson was simply lied and I won't buy any BioWare product in the future, period.
