EA/Bioware is suddenly valueing artictic viewpoints more then money much to my surprise
I love the hypocracy behind the "it's art!" attitude. Last I checked, artists don't retroactively add extras to their work for small payments and finish their art by painting "please buy more stuff from me" across the finished product.

"I didn't want the game to be forgettable, and even right down to the sort of polarizing reaction that the ends have had with people - debating what the endings mean and what's going to happen next, and what situation are the characters left in," Hudson said
But for the fact, and I use the word fact, the ending isn't polarizing because it was good or thought provoking. The ending was polarizing because thats the lens effect they used to create the three 'different' videos.
Seriously, if there was a way to end ME3 poorly, this was it.

Of course, I'm not an extremely angry fan demanding anything different. I'd like to see this "closure" that they touted, but I still think it's a great game - they have all been great games. The ending is meh, but it doesn't detract (IMO) from the overall value of the series.

"I guess he came up with the idea when setting up his new TV"
Comedy gold.
Thread title seems harsh.

Ultimately? They ran out of time, and they could not fulfill that vision. they failed to close the deal.
They went for a truncated ending, trying to pull off an Inception mind bend or something-and utterly failed in the attempt.
It is patently false in hindsight, but to say it was a lie at the time is false.
The only lie? Is the one they are telling themselves right now. That the 'creative interpretation' truncated ending is some how not disjointed from the rest of the series. And I'm being kind here.

There's more to the ending than how you change the galaxy. There's what happens to Anderson, to TIM, to the krogan, salarians, the other characters. There's a lot of different endings.:)
Exactly what happend to the Salarians, Krogans etc.? We see Anderson, TIM, Joker and 2 squadmates yes. Other than that you know as much as I do about what happened to the races that helped fight on Earth and I know nothing. With out relays how the hell will the Quarians get home? After finally getting Rannoc back and helping Shepard they are screwed out of a home.

he ruined his reputation with the lies he told us about ME3 and the endings.
The company's reputation is going to have some major dents by the end of this too even if they planned all this. Stuff like this could have sunk a smaller company.

I think 'lie' is to harsh. The latest misinformation? Sure. But I think they went into it wanting a the high browed bitter-sweat highly varied ending he/they were talking about.

The ending is for me not just the ending cutscene, Mass Effect 3 has for me every time an ending when I finish a personal or galactic storyline.

He's right, it's not between A,B, and C. Instead, you follow paths A, B, and C and end up with pizza, unicorn, and Chuck Testa.
Actually it's more like you follow paths A, B, and C, and Chuck Testa is at the end of each one.

Yeah, except the interview took place two months ago. If you know anything about game development at all, you'd know that the vision for the game would have been complete by then and possibly already in certification at Microsoft and Sony.

Allright to be honest yes the endings
SUCKED big time.... but that does not mean that the devs lied! We dont
know if they are working with an "ending dlc" or waht they have planned.
We should at least hold on and wait for a while until we start to call
the devs liars and cheats
I can't tell what's worse, the fact that the ending is as bad as it is, or the fact that the fans are actually okay with Bioware shipping an incomplete game and 'patching' it later with DLC. Prevention is better than a cure, folks.
