Ya know, i think the grand realization is that even if they release the ending, and its a smash success and even basically gives us what we want. Mr Hudson may not realize, that in front of the mob, and hes saying "See it was all a great ARG, to see if you could figure it out, and now you have and here is you endings." That people like me will still be standing there looking sternly with bats and clubs and sticks, and pitchforks, hammers and torches. And standing in front I will simply mutter over my shoulder while keeping my gaze firmly on him.

"Save the head, dispose of the rest..."

And just let the viking-like horde of angry bioware gamers do things that classify as crimes against humanity in some parts of the world.

Can't really fault him here. Of course he's going to lie and stretch the truth. He's trying to sell a game. Casey Hudson is not unique. Plenty of developers do this.

If you want to be mad at anyone be mad at yourselves for allowing Casey Hudson to seduce you. Realize that in the end Bioware and EA are businesses out to make money. That doesn't excuse them from making a terrible game but it does explain why you should never believe anything FROM A GUY TRYING TO GET YOU TO GIVE HIM MONEY.

Allright to be honest yes the endings SUCKED big time.... but that does not mean that the devs lied! We dont know if they are working with an "ending dlc" or waht they have planned. We should at least hold on and wait for a while until we start to call the devs liars and cheats

Still misleading because the game's finale should be part of the game itself, not some DLC.  Typically DLC takes the player back to before the end game.  Is this the harbringer of a new business model?  Release games at full price sans endings and then make players pay for it through DLC?

yeah, there is a difference from skewing a product's performance and outright lying about its contents or performance. Its generally considered OK to skew facts but not outright invent them. and right now Mr. Hudson is just the lightning rod, a very burnt lightning rod.

And to all the people bawwwing about personal attacks and the new forum rules, Casey Hudson's personality isn't being attacked. It's business.

Look at my post a few up.

So many choices. So many different consequences. So many different outcomes.

The developers are not, I repeat, NOT working on some "super-secret super-dooper awesome sauce" ending. The lame, crap endings we got are the true endings that the writing staff puked out because they ran out of time and needed to release the game. This was not planned out. They LIED about this like they lied about the day-one DLC being worked on months after the core game was complete.

With the massive sh*tstorm the crap ending has caused, Bioware may be forced to make some type of DLC ending to appease the masses. But, to me, that would be too little, too late. The damage is done, and the once lofty name of Bioware has been smudged. They chose to release a product with a rushed ending, and frankly I will not support a company like that anymore. Bioware can spin this however they like in the future, but the truth is pretty simple to see. Usually, the simplest explanation is the right one. In this case, Bioware was running out of time so they rushed the ending. That is all.

Who knew, I spent hundreds of hours playing a franchise and it all comes down to me picking what color of explosion I want.

It just amazes me that this actually got published out to fans. Did anyone stand up and say... yeah you know, this is kinda retarded?

I just dont understand though that if it was rushed, just have the crucible destroy the reapers and then give us some resolution? Do the exact same thing with the godchi9ld and eveyrthing but just have the reapers die. Its a happy go-lucky ending, but there has been enough sacrifice up to that point that its not all sunshine. I just dont understand the logic behind the destruction of the mass relays, or just the complete and utter lack of resolution.

Like I said, the ending was rushed. But since Casey and others in the dev team made all sorts of promises to the fans they couldn't completely bork it, so they decided to only half bork it. Thus the three "choices" (or illusions of choices) were stuck in there at the end, thus allowing Bioware to say, "See! We didn't lie! There's multiple endings!"

Of course, there's really just one ending with different subtle permutations, but that's not the point. The point is Bioware can legally claim that they did not go out of their way to cheat customers, and that they included multiple endings on the game.

Personally, I blame the multiplayer for the awful state of the ending. If assets weren't devoted to it, then I guarantee that the single player game would be much, much better than it was, not to mention that we'd all have a decent ending. Of course, Bioware claims that assigning resources to create multiplayer in no way affected the single player game, but we all know by now that Bioware is full of bullsh*t.

So plot holes - Miranda doesn't know where the super secret TIM station is located: even though it hasn't moved in years.
Romance - this got all promised as a kinda dating sim: well that got turned into a click wheel of "hey want sex?""yeah why not?", well this happened to my Femshep.
Ending - oh you do stuff that matters and affects the ending: yeah right (where is my Tui Ad for that?).
Also - what is up with the whole get the galaxy together? all they do is turn up for a cutscene and then stand around saying stuff, then its upto Shepard to up sticks and run off by himself/herself (plus 2 crew) to save the day.
One last note - nice tanks, where is mine? I wanna go explore a planet in my Mako or Floatie tank. TF2 engineer must have been in the cutting room, saying 'nope'.
Erg.................

I really wish that one of these major gaming journalism sites, even if they don't agree with the s*itstorm the fans have been raising over the ending, would take Hudson to task over this. I mean is that too much to ask for? THROW HIS OWN QUOTE AT HIM.

Oooh... all the lies and scandal. Exciting.

I don't believe pre-release statements until I play the game. I don't play Mass Effect 3 because of false marketing promises. I play it because I LOVE THE SERIES.
