The developers are not, I repeat, NOT working on some "super-secret super-dooper awesome sauce" ending. The lame, crap endings we got are the true endings that the writing staff puked out because they ran out of time and needed to release the game. This was not planned out. They LIED about this like they lied about the day-one DLC being worked on months after the core game was complete.

With the massive sh*tstorm the crap ending has caused, Bioware may be forced to make some type of DLC ending to appease the masses. But, to me, that would be too little, too late. The damage is done, and the once lofty name of Bioware has been smudged. They chose to release a product with a rushed ending, and frankly I will not support a company like that anymore. Bioware can spin this however they like in the future, but the truth is pretty simple to see. Usually, the simplest explanation is the right one. In this case, Bioware was running out of time so they rushed the ending. That is all.

Thats is what i think to , i dont even think they are going to make some ending DLC , we just get some response like : Sorry but we can please everyone , and we recieve great feedback from fans that liked the end. Or somenthing like that.

Oooh... all the lies and scandal. Exciting.

I don't believe pre-release statements until I play the game. I don't play Mass Effect 3 because of false marketing promises. I play it because I LOVE THE SERIES.

Well, that's good for you. I don't think it's unreasonable for people to get pissed about this. I could be more forgiving if I felt like I was mislead through direct advertising--the campaigns, commercials and what not since those sorts of advertising are usually deceptive in one form or another--but to be mislead by interviews with the director of the game is something else entirely.

Technically it can be classed as false advertising.....
Depends on the country though - but if you say something works in such a way, say a toaster with see through glass and it comes with coloured plastic and you can't see Jack on the otherside whilst making space toast (heh pun) - then you can end up getting hammered by the book of Law.
Anyway hasn't an American tried to sue them yet? (Sorry stereotyping here....)

I loled at that. That perfectly sums up experiencing this ending.

Seriously I would never have believed Bioware to be able to make an ending that bad. So far I've always been fully satisfied after every Bioware game (I know some people complained about DA2, but I thought it fit with the whole way the game developed), but now I feel ripped of my € 75.- for my N7 edition.

On another note:
What I don't like about this thread is how aggressive it seems.

If we want a better ending added, we certainly won't get it by calling Hudson a liar or ranting about Bioware.

It should be more grown-up, more polite, that way the chance that our protest is gonna be heard is far greater.

You'd need some pretty bottomless pockets to sue EA.

Comedy gold.

Thread title seems harsh.

Come on, in a place where not everybody knows about technical things this would have been a great an artistic idea.
But i don' t belive he got that ending in front of his new TV, cause new TVs have HDMI inputs, I think he got that idea when he brings his old CRT-TV to garbage. You remember these old big and heavy things with the 3 colorpoints or lines?
Newest technologie, RGB ColorTV ^_^

True... but it's also simply a fact that he did lie.

That, or he was lied to himself.

I think 'lie' is to harsh. The latest misinformation? Sure. But I think they went into it wanting a the high browed bitter-sweat highly varied ending he/they were talking about.

Ultimately? They ran out of time, and they could not fulfill that vision. they failed to close the deal.

Yeah, except the interview took place two months ago. If you know anything about game development at all, you'd know that the vision for the game would have been complete by then and possibly already in certification at Microsoft and Sony.

Oh damn, I did not check the date on that statement.  I stand corrected.  Yeah, unless they had/have something up their sleeve the whole time-that is clearly a untruth, or totally delusional.  Or both.

I believe he was referring to the ending of the mass effect series, the whole of ME3 is the end. And there are so many permutations that can happen in ME3. He did not lie, you are misrepresenting him. Now who's the liar?

Casey Hudson is. He said that Mass Effect 3 would not have a traditional game ending. That it would not be a matter of choosing ending A, B, or C. Which is exactly what we got.

Michael Gamble also said "There are many different endings. We wouldn’t do it any other way. How could you go through all three campaigns playing as your Shepard and then be forced into a bespoke ending that everyone gets? "  Again, this is exactly what we get. One ending with three slight variations.

These are statements made about the series as a whole. They were made in response to specific questions about the endings available in Mass Effect 3.

You can parse that all you want. But anyone who is not a sycophant can see that this is dishonest. Don't want to call it a lie, fine. But it's dishonest.

That and the judge will laugh you out of court in America. Courts have ruled that salesman hype is just that and it shouldn't be taken as a promise. Otherwise every used car salesman and Peter Molyneux would be in court, lol.

My biggest beef isn't that they took a big dump and called that the ending.
My biggest beef is that their response to the fanbase outcry is basically an insult to our intelligence.

I hate the way that it was built up to be the best game of the series, only to have me sitting there numb for 10 mins after the ending, thinking "WTF?! All that time and emotional investment for this ****TY ending?!"

Bah.. Thanks for ripping me off BioWare, I spent £80 on my N7 edition & another £20 for the game guide. I wish the reapers would land on their building right now, they wouldn't have half the amount of dustructive force compared to all the angry fans world wide. We would blow that building out of this Milky way. lol

While I'm all for wanting some complete closure, I'm almost at the stage where if they do tell us "these weren't the real endings" or "we have a dlc with the closure to this series" I'm not going to be pleased. Yes, I know, can't please some. But I do have a reason for feeling this way that is logical to me. (To me, doesn't mean it has to be logical to you). When I purchased this game, I expected the ending of the game to be there. Silly me for expecting the end of a trilogy to actually have an end. I also won't be laughing if I hear, "Yeah we told you 16 different endings, but what we didn't say was that they'd all be on the disc."

No, that makes perfect sense.  I expected...well, everything we were told to expect.
