Man, I just read your bonus ending two and I lol'd. HARD. I can Imagine Javik being worshipped by 11 gazillion of fanatics

But anyway, i read most through of it, its good really. This is make EMS have more impact to the ending of the game.

Just gonna say, this was amazing. I enjoyed reading it, and it would be more fun playing it! It gives me hope in a galaxy full of reapers.

Bioware, hire this man!

Also, bonus ending 2 wants me to buy Prothy the Prothean DLC

what I like about your endings:

- there are many different wrinkles to the endings, thus encouraging more playthroughs.

- EMS means something now, which motivates the player to try to find ways to get more during the game. Which encourages more playthroughs.

Yeah, I was specifically going for both of these.

As I'm the rare one who both likes the deafult endings and awaits DLC to change them I was at first doubtful of whether you could offer some good alternative, but having read the whole post I find it really good, except for the point that your importend actions barely change anything leaving all the work for EMS(meaning multiplayer and sidequests that many people unlike me do not favour).
Still 1 point: the amount of strike force shown rushing to the beam is adequate unless you see a formation of MAKOs occupying every single square meter there is). Id focus on harbinger there rather then amount of sodiers. Thus: if your EMS is low - harbinger just vaporises everything it sees. On higher EMS you get slightly larger strike force AND forces that target/draw attention of harbinger like orbital strikes or artillery or both the intense fire of which will actually determine how many targets harbinger was able to lay his eye on.
But still its a good suggestion indeed.

+googolplex This is so much better than what we got. If Bioware doesn't change the ending I'll just imagine this happened instead.

This, pretty much, though if it were me I would have Anderson die regardless. As much as I love the guy, that final convo with Shepard is so damn perfect that I think his survival would cheapen it. That, and I wouldn't have the "proto-Reaper" race show up. Much more effective if it's just Harbinger.

I'd also throw in (even though it's implied in your description) some clear scenes of Hammer and Sword kicking ass/getting their ass kicked. Quarians getting rescued by the Geth, the Destiny Ascension blowing some destroyers up in one shot/ramming a Reaper to death, Krogan and Rachni soldiers fighting side by side, etc. Emphasize the fact that the whole galaxy is committed to the fight.

Other than that, like I said, great work.

My idea is that they're trying to make Shepard sympathize with them by making their hologram assume the form they had before becoming Reapers.

As for Anderson, I share your sentiment about his death really driving the last convo home, but I wanted him to survive in the Golden Ending to dispel the whole "Mentor always dies no matter what"-trope. Unlike ME2's Golden Ending, this imagined Golden Ending is ridiculously hard to get, and him surviving is supposed to be a cherry on the top for those who painstakingly went out of their way to orchestrate the perfect ending.

While I'm all for a super-difficult to achieve "Golden Ending" ala ME2 (which wasn't that difficult but whatevs), I still think that Anderson (and, IMO, other more important characters) need to bite it no matter what. I loved that ME3's arc words (and gameplay) were "You Can't Save Them All". You can save the Krogan, but Mordin dies. You can help the Geth achieve true sentience and reconcile them with the Quarians, but at the cost of Legion. You can save the galaxy, and ride off Ono the sunset with your LI, but Anderson needs to bleed out, Having finally told you how proud he is. "The mentor dies" may be a cliche, but not all cliches are bad.

This is pretty much the perfect fix to the ending whilst also keeping the general framework of the ending.

Seriously this needs more attention.

Yeah I left out stuff like that because I thought it would be obvious. I was more concerned with adressing the mechanics of the endings in order to make them more diverse and, you know, actually mean something.

I come here all the time and this is without a doubt one of the best idea's I've ever read on BSN.

Everyone should read the op (fans and developers).

Honestly, I'd prefer endings where no matter how many war assets you get, shepherd and his crew die. They just die more or less heroically depending on choices and war assets.

Also, all mass relays still blow up, but if you got more or less war assets, and depending on choices, the battle ends earlier somehow and allows the fleets to return to their home systems.

And of course an ending where the reapers win.

^I want the option to exist. That's what Mass Effect is all about - options. It's not going to be easy to keep Shepard alive, but it should be possible if enough effort is put into it.

And the relays blowing up in all of the endings is just bad. It prevents the story from going forward. And the fleets leaving before the Reapers are destroyed makes no sense, to be honest.

As for an ending where the Reapers win, it exists. With less than 1750 war assets, they manage to foil Shepard's plan and go about their merry Reaping way.

Also, how about we also hear status of fleets and ground troops more often too during final assault?

And when we get to the Citadel we can hear radio chatter of C-Sec trying to defend themselves on Citadel.

You can get different dialogues depending on your choices and how good you did.
