If that's supposed to be Tali, why does the neck look too short for her suit? Bad Photoshop is bad and I hope they got the person's permission to use the photo.

It was a stock photo that they didn't need permission to use. That's why they used it.

Which in my opinion is bloody shocking, as many people have said it should be like this:
Image IPB

That is my favorite fan art of Tali's face, I suppliment that one in its place in my head.

And as I said, all we need now is a mod that replaces the photo-shop bull and puts that in its place

Anyone think they could do that?

It was lame, and frankly misleading. Part of the hype for ME3 was that "you finally get to see Tali". Then they put a silly photo next to his bed and call it done? No sane person could believe that such a lame effort would be perceived by anyone invested in the game as being "seeing Tali".

This is just one of many ways in which I was left with the feeling that ME3 was forced through as fast as possible with the least amount of effort. I am confident that they were thinking "get their money now, apologize later - maybe get some more money later by selling them DLC to fix the short cuts we took - yeah, that sounds good - I think we can get away with that".

I would of rather had it that Bioware never showed her face..... cause the photo just seemed more like a smack in the face to me.

I wasn't happy about Tali's face but after what they did to the ending I kinda let it go. but now yeah i also wish they put more effort into it. After all the moment where she stands on Rannoch and opens her mask would be even better if camera panned around from behind in a circle to show her face looking at her long lost homeworld

Eh, I like the idea that Tali has hair and that it's long (it's a vanity thing and there's nothing that says a helmet means she couldn't HAVE it long), and we always knew Quarians were close to humans in their facial appearance. So on one hand I'm happy with it. Plus, she's hot (the woman in the pic is real pretty, you have to admit, even if you don't like the quality of the shop).

But I really can't deny that it's kind of lazy and that seems to be a reoccurring theme the closer you get to the end of Mass Effect 3. Don't care that it was stock, and I dig the aesthetic of a photo being an actual photo, but I can definitely dig how people want a better quality shop or even have wanted a rendered photo or something. I dunno. My feelings are hugely mixed on this aspect. Hugely. Hope I'm not ENTIRELY alone there.

This is what i'd hoped for, the photo was lazy, I still liked it though.

With all the amazing Tali face artwork all over DeviantArt to use a generic image photo shopped was a pretty ****** poor decision. Another issue is the fact that they used a generic imagine instead of rendering it in-game.

I guess they ran out of time to do a character model of her and came up with a quick solution. A less obvious one would have been preferred. For me, I am a fence sitter, on one hand I do not like the fact that a stock photo was used to portray a popular character and the other hand in the grand scheme of things, its not that big of a deal. but that is just my opinion, no need to go spreaden it around.

This was the first thing I thought of when I saw the Tali picture in game. This image is infinetly better. I bet BioWare could have got the rights from the artist for song. Everyone would have been way more happy.

I disagree vehemently with those who do not feel that this is laziness on the part of Bioware.

1.)  I don't agree that this was meant to be an "Easter Egg."  Discovering Tali's portrait may be an Easter Egg in itself (as only those who are romancing her can see it) but the artwork used for her portrait is an obvious hatchet job.

2.)  I remember a time when gigantic, Photoshop lens flare effects on any kind of a picture were considered memes in and of themselves.  Sure, they can rationalize that she was looking at the sunset when the photo was taken, but other elements of the picture suggest that it was added to obscure the subject rather than improve upon it.  For me, the proof lies in the digital amputation that left behind the, heh, vestigial knuckle.

3.)  This is a AAA title produced by a major studio.  Are they really that starved for resources?  They must have gigabytes of art assets that they could have recycled without our knowledge that could be used to craft an acceptable face for Tali.  They could have rasterized an NPC's model and Photoshopped it.  They could have whipped something up in the character editor.  They could have used something other than a picture that could be found easily on Google Image Search.

4.)  Tali is one of my favorite characters, to be sure, but I am not nearly as rabid a fan of hers as a lot of other people.  But she's not a random NPC.  She is not a DLC character.  She is a potential love interest for the protagonist.  Do I care what she looks like under her mask?  Of course.  Bioware themselves have perpetuated this mystery, to make people care. They have publicly acknowledged fan requests to reveal her true appearance in the past; there is a lot of "buzz" on the subject matter.  After all that, all they could come up with is a royalty-free stock photo of Jane Doe?

When even the creators of the character treat her with such a distinct lack of respect, what does it say to casual fans like me?

It's like Bioware is underestimating their fans, seriously what were they thinking? within hours of the games release the before and after pictures started showing up.

Not only did they use a Stock Photo (No it's not a famous stock photo) but they photoshopped it badly , so it screams of laziness (I hate to call it laziness but that's what it is even if it's due to time constraints)

Either model her in-game with some effort (even though some fans wouldn't be happy with it, it would still show that they actually care enough) or leave it a mystery.

I had that picture everybody keeps posting as my wallpaper for a while. I must say I agree with Porfirmir on his 3rd point entirely, Bioware is big company and I expect they had quarian designs going back to ME1.
When i think about it i agree on all 4 points of his post they are all valid and completely understandable especially since I am also one of the Talimancers as some people call us.

I believe theres a line by Javick at some point where he says that even in his time Quarians were viewed as being very attractive and that it's a shame they have to wear the suits. then he says that few have seen them without the sutis, though he supposes shepherd has seen one, and tali kind of groans  bit in embarassment.

Haha.. 3 pages in 2 hours.

BioWare.. why did you do this?.

Do you love your children as much as we do?. Do you even care for your own hard work?. Your own creation?.
