A shot doent get much longer than this: maybe they put that pic in game to gauge the fan reactions, so they can retcon it in a patch then add a 3D model. Im sorry that was dumb of me, but I cant think of any other reason for them to do this to her, cept they were rushed/lazy.

I agree. If you're going to show us Tali's face then at the very least take the time to do it right and actually make a model. I would rather have that they kept her face a secret than only doing it halfhearted, at least that's my view on it.

If you look at the stock photo, it is much easier and less time consuming to cut out the pinky and ring finger (like they did) than it is to cut out the middle two. Cutting out the middle two makes it look much more like Tali's actual hands. Tali's actual hands look like, as you so eloquently put it, permanent heavy metal horns.

Still a bit disturbed by the fact that Quarians apparently aren't bald. They're stuck in the suits their entire lives and can't wash their hair at any point without getting sick (much less cut it), with it trapped against their skull.

Their suits are clean environments, how exactly would their hair get dirty?

One thing I'm wondering though, why does everyone assume Quarians are purple? Grnated the picture shows Tali with a purple tinge but it seems that's just because almost all the fanbase assumed she was.

Actually, as far as I remember Grunt told that in order to get to the quarians spine you should use knife, while for humans' sipne you need nothing. But I may be wrong =) So that's ridiculous that they have put his photo.

I was hoping to see Tali as a whole face moving and talking or to still have the mistery arround.
This middle ground is kinda bad -beyond the photoshop stock photo-

I believe a better picture would have had the same outcome. even one of those cool fan arts. I think there was no middle ground on this one.

Yeah Grunt did say something like humans are squishy fleshy things and Quarians, not so much (or something like that). Doesn't make any sense to me though, It's quite clear that Quarian anatomy is much like that of humans and they most certainly don't appear to be overly armored or difficult to kill.

But still they definetely not so softy as Humans and should not look like 100% humans. Bioware are lazy, I suppose that they do not really imagine how a real Quarian should look like and that's the problem, as well as Turian female or Krogan female.

I love that they expressed concern and worry over giving Tali an official 'in-game' face-- but didn't seem too worried about FORGETTING TO PUT AN ENDING on the narrative, and then betraying its themes entirely. Defying Cosmicism? No just kidding, you have to pick a color now. Shut up, pick a color.

I also don't understand why they can't greatly resemble humans. Look at Asari, the only difference being their tentacles and their skin is blue. Quarians have much more differences between them and humans than that already with their suits on.

For me I want them to look quite human as I like Tali and sorry but I don't find super alien to be attractive. Maybe that's just me though.

No-no, I also prefer human-alike aliens. Let them be like Asari, or like playable species in SW TOR, but not Humans. =)

I'm in a minority, I guess. I actually was alright with the image they used for Tali's face. Yeah, the work they did to alter the stock photo could've been much better, but overall, I was fine with the look. There's no reason Tali couldn't have long hair (or just hair in general); maybe she had it tied or bound in such a way that the suit kept it hidden.

The fanart that has come out depicting Tali's face have been amazing, to be sure. But there was no way they would use any of them because Bioware would have to pay the designer for use of the image, and considering their collective attitude toward their consumers of late, that wasn't likely to happen.

Could they have done a lot better? Absolutely. But I'm certainly not going to **** about that image when the face for ManShep was based on a relatively obscure Dutch supermodel.

Honestly I don't mind them using that image either, or rather, using that girl as Tali's model. And the bad PS really isn't that bad for the situation (just a small image in a picture frame). Though, the way they cut corners on the hand does bother me. I do a lot of work with Gimp (free PS) and it just doesn't sit right with me. Check out one of my previous posts where I (quickly) showed how they could have done her hand better.

What really bothered me though was simply that all they gave us was a high school PS job (at best) and not a fully fleshed out Tali. When Tali took her mask off on Rannoch was when we should have seen her. Frankly now that I think about it, the fact that they didn't is unforgivable. It would have been so fitting and touching. Just more evidence The EA (Evil Arts) rushed them and sacrificed way too much to do so. Such a shame.

I just want to say something. This thread is probably dead by now, but I don't give a flying hoot.

Lies. I speak for EVERYONE when I say that absolutely anything would've been better than that half-assed PS job. I was pissed off at first when I found out that was it, but I thought the girl in the picture looked like Ash Sroka, but when I found out later on that it was just a pic they found somewhere in the bottoms of facebook, I was devastated. I couldn't believe(and I still don't) that BioWare would do something like that.

For anyone who keeps saying that nothing could've pleased us, listen to me.

regardless of how they show her face, i don't want to see it. i think that's part of the fun. everyone has a different interpretation of what her face would look like and i like it like that.

tali fans are the craziest subgroup of mass effect fans. absolutely no way to please them with tali's face. impossible.

I am and I thought the face was fine, ya it could be a little more Alien, but from all past fact everything told Quarians are mammals, had a visible nose, lips and ears like area ((she has long hair no idea to tell if that right or not)) so I was a-ok with it.

Would indeed have been perfect. Would've worked even for both endings on Rannoch. It's a shame.

If one good thing came out of this, it's that I personally laugh every time I see a shopped picture of some famous person whose been turned into a "quarian".
