Never used steam, but I would assume they should have given you some redemption codes. You simply enter the redemption codes on this site, log on in game, and you should get the items.

You get some codes, go to the DLC content page & theres a button there that will link you out, you have to put the codes into a page somewhere on this website, as I said, they'll be a link in the DLC page when you launch & are running DAO. If you get any more problems after putting in your codes, i'll try to help.

Downloadable Content in the main menu, there are links in there that will take you directly to where to redeem the codes steam gave you.

Ahh, found where the direct link is..
http://social.biowar...redeem_code.php
put in the codes steam gave you there, and then check to see on this website if you
actually have the content allowed. via...

If you have any problems viewing / downloading your DLC. Let me know, everybody is - including myself, luckily a bioware support person sent me some messages & we got it sorted out.

ahh snaps it say this msg under registered promo codes - The others are available from Bodahn in the party camp - what party camp is this? is it one in the very beginning of the game? hence meaning i need to restart in order to get the items?

Alrighty.
Start menu > Run > Services.msc
Look for Dragon Age Origins & tell me what happens when you try to manually start it [right click].
Also, what operating system are you? And is DAO on a different drive other than C:?

You seem to have the same problem I had so i'm sure we can resolve this, rather than you spending 2 weeks with no DLC , like I did. Ha.

Great. Same error as me, and you're on the same system as me. Righto. I'm assuming you don't have something i'm gonna link you to, so please wait whilst I find.

http://download.micr...5a/dotnetfx.exe
You will download this, and it will create a folder in your Windows folder called Microsoft.NET
Then go inside the folder v2.0.50727 & find a programme called InstallUtil [It's an EXE]
If you have all of that after the download & whatnot, let me know, and we'll have you fixed within 5 mins.

Unless you already have a Microsoft.NET folder , then skip first step. but i'm guessing you don't.

Ok. Heres what we're gonna do. First OFF.
1> Check your Bin_ship folder in your steam/Dragon age origins folder. and double check ONLY to see if the file daupdatersvc.service is there.
If it is , proceed as follows!
Start menu > Run > type in sc delete DAUpdaterSvc
Start menu > run > services.msc & double check to see that DAO: Is NOT there.
Now copy the InstallUtil from your Windows Net folder into your Dragon Age Origins Bin_Ship folder [the folder with daupdatersvc.service in it]
Once you have copied the InstallUtil into that folder. Drag daupdatersvc.service over InstallUtil , and a screen will pop up - this is reinstalling your service.
Then go back to Services.msc and right click & press start on the Dragon age origins updater, it should be there, and it should work this time.
Then come back here and tell me if it's worked. lol
