Anyone else notice this last time they were at Gamestop post Mass Effect 3's release?  There are used copies of Mass Effect 3 everywhere.  More so than even Black Ops and Modern Warefare 3.  The retailer told me that tons of people are returning their copies angry about the ending.

I'm shocked at how many used copies of this game there are so soon after the game's release.

If this happens widespread we may not get a new ending but the next time a game developer tries to be "artistic" they may put a little more thought into it.

Yeah, I went in for that new SSX game and the place was damn near flooded. They were even stacking them up on top of cabinets behind some suspended posters.

I'm going to give a few weeks, but returning my game is the only way I can think to try and show my opinion to BW.

Hmm interesting.  Be more interested if this is a wide spread problem or not.

I know they had a few price drops in some markets.

Think Bioware should do some damaged control...

And that does not include getting your Lap Dogs at IGN to kiss your butts.

I still have a collector's edition of the game unopened that I was going to give to a nephew as a birthday present. Now I don't feel like I can give it to him and have my conscious clean. Sigh!

Easy to claim such happening, but no showing of proof of it makes sound like propaganda.

Why would Bioware mind so much if you people sell their games. They already bought it and Bioware got that money, Bioware gets also some money whether new or used via online pass/DLC on a used/new copy. 3.5million+ shipped and expect to see that number rise drastically over period of coming weeks since adverts have started appearing on TV for the title. In the end this will be and has so far been their most successful title in the series sales wise. People are so dam quick to threaten or claim doom and gloom, end of the world or end of Bioware for simply not enjoying the games the buy. They will be proven wrong with ME3 sales.

bioware cares because thats one less DLC customer.
they care because everytime someone buys a used copy instead of a new copy they dont make any money. most people buying ME3 wont care enough about multiplayer to buy an online pass for their used copy.

they will lose out on money because of that. believe me. they are aware of that fact.

Win for gamestop, loss for BW. Last thing they wanted was a surplus of used copies in gamestop. Now people don't have to buy new copies.

While it could be 'fun' if true - I'm not sure 'retailer told me' is that factual :D

Same here in Delaware and I ams eeing a lot on Amazon.  Hopefully word will get back to EA.  The few people who keep the game the fewer people will be paying for DLc and that is lost money for them.

It's a little early to tell but this could turn out to be the biggest backlash on gamers part since Atari put out all those rushed games in the early 80s.

Except the adverts all say something akin to : Take back Earth.
When people hear they're not going to in any way ...... chances are some might not be swayed by the advertisement.

I agree with your first statement.  I'd like to see some uploaded photo snaps to confirm this.  Next time I'm near gamestop I'll stop in and see if this is also true in my area.

However, if true, it is a big deal for EA.  Used games hurt them bad; that is why they created Origin and online passes to begin with.  Also, consider that if there really are a lot of used copies of ME3 laying around this soon after release, how does that look to the casual gamers who either havent purchased yet or are thinking about buying a used copy?  Not good.  It's terrible publicity.

I hope that they don't really take the anger at the GameStop, not their fault.

Gamestop got their own share of sins to atone for, though.

Oh, so artistic is how they're playing off shoddy writting and gaping plotholes. Interesting.

i bought collectors edition from amazon. And I paid £55 for it, now its available on from £70
plus the game itself is good until the last 10 minutes. And since Game(like gamestop but in uk) didnt even sell ME3 there is really nowhere to return them.

Well this was the case in my local gamestop. I was trading in a few other older titles of mine, and saw copious amounts of them. I'm holding on to mine...for now.

While I bought mine on PC, I wouldn't return it if I could. That's one benefit console players have over us on PC. However I still do not like the current ending (not plural) as it's just bad.
