Well the more used copies there are the demand to ship more to stores is less. EA makes money on what's shipped to stores not what's sold in stores. So this would hurt EA big time because now they have copies in a warehouse they can't move because there's used copies everywhere.

You think Amazon and Gamestop are going to ask EA to ship more when they have to ether cut the price to move new units or carry a large amount of used copies. No.

I hate to make this comparison but the ME3's ending may cause a ''Duke Nukem Forever '' Sendrome on the prices...

The hype was so big as well as the price , after people actually played it ( like me ) they saw what a waste of money it was...and in the coming weeks the price dropped 2/3.

If Bioware won't make a damage control ( I am not talking about paying ''journalists'' off ) I can see that happening to Mass Effect 3. Maybe not as dire as Duke Nukem but even before the first week of the game's release and you get this kind of reaction....something should tell you there is a problem...

Yet Bioware says nothing is wrong.

I wonder if Ea who bought them when they had a huge following of fans on the internet who would preorder anything they made the moment it wa s announced and buy every piece of DLC will feel the same way.

I hope that they don't really take the anger at the GameStop, not their fault.

lol, are you kidding me? Gamestop is probably ecstatic right now. All these used games they can now sell and get ALL of the profits to themselves!

As strong as my reaction is to the ending, I will not return this copy of ME3.

The flood of returned ME copies doesn't look good for those who want a new dlc ending.though. What's the point if they can;t make a profit on it? t the same time, why would anyone want to buy story dlc that should be free in principle?

People seem most angry about the lack of closure the series brings.

Headcanon, I guess.

I don't get why people return their games as means to punish BioWare...they make money from the copies they ship, not the ones that sell, that's the profit for stores like GameStop...it will eventually hurt BioWare, but hardly as much as any returning copies would hope...

I'll keep my copy in the hope that they fix the ending or make up for it in the upcoming weeks...if they don't, I might play it again at some point and pretend the Reapers are destroyed when Anderson "falls asleep", then I get back to Earth and f*** Ashley as hard as I f***ed the Reapers...

if people keep pushing for a petition and it grows more and more (which it has) then BW will be forced to remake the ME3 ending

but. if BW is arrogant and stupid enough not remake an ending for ME3 then they will pay for it.

fan base will probably go empty or hardly none at all in it. they will lose sales. ME3 worth will drop dramatically.

but this is what will happen IF even more people world wide gets PO'd at the ME3 ending

everyone better put on some sunglasses BW bout to get "IM AH FIRIN MAH LAZOR" dude in da face

edit

for Orenen ^

if all those copies were mentioned on the web or news it only strengthn and confirm the people who r trying to petition BW to remake the ending

media feedback is what will hurt BW the most but their pockets will get attacked at some point but not immediately

More used copies equates to less demand for new ones to be shipped.

Actually resale is a big deal to producers. Every game you buy used from gamestop is money the producer didn't get. It's why there is such a powerful movement in the industry to make game licensed property that only on person is authorized to use. On of the reasons the darsiders franchise is in limbo is that most of the market saturation resulted from resale. The producer made little, if any, of the money. This is also why so many titles find themselves on xbox live eventually.

Foolish move IMO... even with the terrible endings I'm enjoying both my second playthrough and MP just as much as when I started. Also what happens if bioware does fix the endings or releases the new planned endings? Everyone who bought it for 60 then returned it for 30 is going to have to buy it again at $55 cheapest...

yeah as I said a few pages back ther eis a reason why game makers are trying to make it harder and harder for people to use used games.  the whole reason Origin exists is not to stop piracy(it doesn't)but to stop people from being able to buy used games on the PC.  IF EA finds out that the ending is costing them new sales after one week they will not be happy.

I just checked my local Game-Stop and they have a lot of used copies for sale. What is more surprising is the fact that one week after release the game is selling for $47 used. If you take into account the discount they offer on used games it is only 43 bucks.

Yeah, I went in for that new SSX game and the place was damn near flooded. They were even stacking them up on top of cabinets behind some suspended posters.

Anyone else get a little turned on, mentally, with this? There is hope.

That was still their decision to do that. I want a new ending just as bad, and honestly, a large increase in trade-ins to Gamestop will help get EA and Bioware's attention.

Returning the game is their decision. I won't because I have a Collector's Edition.

But I applaud those that have traded their game in

I'm hanging on to my copy of Mass Effect 3 just in case. But if this is true about the used copies then hopefully that sends a message to EA/Bioware
