I have the PC collector's edition, so returning it isn't really an option. Not that I honestly want to. As much as I hate the ending, I love the rest of the game.

I went into a gaming shop wearing my Mass Effect hoodie, and the first thing out of the cashier's mouth when he saw me was, "Wow, SUCKY ending, huh?"

LOL

I almost wanted to return mine. But I keep getting reminded of what happened when I got ME3 in the first place. I didn't pre order at Gamestop. So when I went there to get the game the guy at the register told me to hold on a second. He reprinted my receipt and gave me the DLC armor and weapons for free. All the stuff leading up to the end was great. If I do play it again, and I'm trying slowly but surely. I'd just play up until the point of no return. Then maybe just play multiplayer.

Like I've said before, I still wouldn't return my copy even if I didn't just have a digital edition. I loved the game for all 47 hours of it minus the last 5 minutes. To me, I feel like I still got my money's worth. Yeah, Bioware dropped the ball HARD at the end, but the game was still utterly fantastic right up until that point.

The fact that people are getting so angry really is a testament to how good the rest of the game was.

I agree that the ending is unacceptable, but I still love the game and the series and will probably want to play it again at some point.

Though the rage wasn't as bad with DA2 ending they haven't fixed it yet and never will. I don't expect BW to change anything with ME3 ending and I do think that will be trouble in the future. I know I won't be in any hurry to buy any future BW game until well after release and I get to see what gamer reaction will be.

Dragon Age II had a problem that was the result of more than the ending. The overal plot of the game was vague, something that Mass Effect 3 does not suffer from. Mass Effect 3 got everything right, right up until the last 10 minutes of the game. Literally. I wouldn't be upset with anything else if the game had a proper ending, reflecting our choices.

The problem in Mass Effect 3 is easily rectified through DLC. Dragon Age II did not have this luxury

Bioware will care in the end because unless somethings done i'm sure alot of fans won't be putting their trust in them again.

We should do more than express our opinion. Opinions can be ignored and have been . . . heck, are being ignored right now.

Same at Best Buy here, price drop to $45 and more used copies than those damn NFL games everyone buys.

No, I'm still hopeful for DLC closure. I shouldn't be, but I am. Was in there for other reasons.

Bioware so far hasn't been listening to our voices. But money talks and EVERYONE responds to pain. It's too bad that it looks like it's going to take monetary pain to get their attention.

Every used copy Gamestop receives is a lost DLC purchase.

My thing is how long to they think they can continue to see millions of copies of each game if each new game makes the fans angry and then they treat the fans like dirt?

I want to defend BioWare here a little bit. I don't feel like they've treated the fans like dirt. I think they listen to the fans and make reasonable attempts to satisfy us. They gave us Lair of the Shadow Broker, for example, because fans wanted more Liara.

I think one of two things happened. 1) They were rushed to distribution and couldn't give us a proper ending, or 2) they made a bad call by trying too hard to give us an unpredictable ending. Really, it was probably a combination of both. In any case, I think they made a mistake. They failed miserably. Now I just hope they fix it. Remember that 98% of this game ws truly fantastic, and until they completely ruined the ending, it would have easily been the best game to date on the Xbox. They just made a bad call.

Worth noting: DLC purchases are typically made by the most devoted fans. That the backlash is happening so early after release and that the most loyal fans are surrendering their copies bodes very poorly for DLC purchases.

I feel like i waisted a lot of money on this game. I bought the ME3 collectors edition, the art of the mass effect universe, and the collectors guide for ME3 all for a game that was horrible. I basically threw away $160 towards a piece of garbage.

Gamestop has a thing up now saying you'll get $30 for ME3 within a month of its release (good until April 4): http://www.gamestop....0-trade-credit/

Amazon is giving $33.75, but I am not as sure what their deal is with shipping and stuff. But if the ending still sucks by April, will likely try getting rid of the game.

"Take Earth Back" by stranding all of the galaxy's armies there with no food/resources to guarantee the destruction of earth and likely humanity better than any reapers ever could. Yay.

Amazon will pay for shipping provided you use their choice of carrier.  I've traded a few things, like text books and games through them, and so long as I used whichever service they set as default, it was free.

DA2's ending fit with the game, it was a bit rubbish, but actually made sense and going into the game you knew that you were playing out BioWare's story with limited choices on your behalf. In ME3... it just doesn't fit.

The more copies that are returned, the more used copies that are sold use for cheaper, the less new copies are sold. It's the best way to "vote with your dollar" against a product you already purchased.

I personally love Mass Effect 3 and won't dump my copy just because of the last 5 minutes, but hopefully such actions will drive Bioware/EA to address our issues and maybe have some more respect for their customers/their customers' intelligence.

Expect the next EA press release concerning ME3 sales to once again refer to "shipped" units, rather than actual end user purchases.

Well, I think thats the end for all the 40k-People are raging and 900k-People are happy with the game and all the "statistic doesn' t work in forum" belivers.
Till now not what we hoped for, but the next step in the "right" direction.
In germany there is a similar picture at gamestops and on amazon.

Yeah, I was in GameStop today. Didn't see any used copies anywhere. Doesn't mean they weren't behind a counter somewhere. Also doesn't mean they exist. Anecdotal conversation with a store clerk does not make for "evidence."

Lair of the shadow broker was planned by them so no I don't buy that.

I don't feel any compassion at all for them right now as they knew full well that they were taking a departure with that crappy ending.  Businesses live and die with bad calls, those are the breaks.  While I don't want bioware to go under as a company my tolerance for them is quickly diminishing as the longer they turtle up and don't publicly acknowledge there is a problem.  Yea it sucks to admit you were wrong, but it is never the less something that must be done.  We have all been in similar situations (greatly reduced crowd sizes of course), you just have to bite the bullet and admit it.

Last stat I saw was 1 million units sold and 3.5 million shipped.  Might have changed radically from that...I don't know.
