You all know the company, and what is at stake.
I have come to trust each of their games with my money and commitment - but I have also heard murmurs of discontent. I share your concerns.
We were expecting magnificence; we would be exultant, but the ending was incomplete. Shutting up and accepting it is not our way.
Think of our heroes! KotOR, which overthrew our convictions with a single plot twist. Or DA O, which left us breathless with choices and deep characters.
These giants do not seem to give us solace here, but they are not all BioWare can do.
Before paper pushers, there were artists. Before narrow deadlines, there was intricate narrative!
Our hope brought about DAO: Awakening, but before that, we held the line!
Our hope brought about LotSB, but before that, we held the line!
Our hope will bring The Truth; in the battle today, we will HOLD THE LINE!

That was a nice bit of writing.

Our hope didn't really do us a darn bit of good for DA2, though.
Whenever I try to convince myself that Bioware is better than this, I think of DA2.  I thought it was a one-off when I played it.  Now it's starting to look like business as usual.  I love Bioware, but one more epic fail like this and I will put them in the same "Never buy from this company" category that I reserve for Obsidian.

This is OT, I know, but ... what? What did Obsidian do? KotOR2 was great, and NWN2 was great too! Well that's my opinion at least.

Look up Alpha Protocol, a recent game that was developed by Obsidian

They just let go off a lot of staff members...Microsoft cancelled their game.

Hooray 3rd party!

"Prothen Adept and Vanguard"

Definitely not happening in the multiplayer. Javik is the last of his kind, having hundreds of them running around in multiplayer violates the whole 'its co-op because it makes sense in the universe' ****ick they were going for.

I am bumping this to let some of our unaware Fleets know that there is hope and it is rather strong, considering that this is not just some random user, it is the one who leaked the as-good-as-confirmed multiplayer DLC screenshot.

I just realized something while reading this, and burst into laughter,

Everyone here is correct.

Free isn't EA's style...

Unless it's used to ensure people don't buy used.

Those evil, terrible people stealing food from the mouths of EA's children by buying ME3 used? Won't get the ending unless it's paid for by them, just like Cerberus network.

Otherwise, look at Zaeed, look at the Hammerhead, and a bunch of other entirely free things from Cerberus Network. EA had no problem with giving those out.

EA might be greedy, and a bit moneygrubbing, but they're not idiots. They know if they take something that has no intrinsic value (like data, which, once programmed can be copied infinitely for free, literally making something from nothing. Development costs would be covered in just that, development, after that point EA need make no further investment.) and make it LOOK like alot, and give it out for what it cost to make (nothing.) then they end up looking like heroes, making good rapport with their customers, whom will happily go to the store to buy more DLC if they get a satisfying ending.

(also, to answer two things about that, it mentions a Collector base, how do we know Javik is the last of his kind? As for how you can bring Javik to a Multiplayer map, pay attention, when you do N7 Missions, you visit most of the multiplayer maps in the singleplayer campaign a least once.)

Seems too good to be true.

I would say the current end is too bad to be true, but it can be changed with DLC.

I really want to believe this but it kind of seems TOO good to be true. This "anonymous user" is just most likely trolling giving us false information on what we want. Hopefully though. Not getting my hopes up.

Prothean Adapt and Vanguard.

LOOKS LIKE JAVIK FOR A WAY TO BREED GAIS.

As much as I would want this to be true, it's the biggest pile of lies I've seen a while, based on just that. I don't see why they would implement a race that's extinct into a multiplayer that's considered canon, and have multiple of Protheans running about. Makes 0 sense.

i want to beleive simply because the ending we currently have has no place in the mass effect universe. Every single moment playing from 1-3 (minus the last 10 mins) i could feel the love the team put into making these games. The 'endings' have no dialect after sheps very limited chat with the star child, they are all virtually identical regardless of what ye pick (theres a vid on youtube with all 6 different cinematics played at once shows this perfectly). The ending reeks of last minute pulled out of their asses.

I refuse to beleive that bioware would destroy something they put so much work into createing. Mass effect could be their cash cow for years and years to come. Prequals, mmo, movies, anime, comics. its a story that could go anywhere and evolve with endless potential. To think theyd ruin it all with such a thoughtless 'ending' is just too much

So SO much is wrong with the final part of the game. I mean, from the moment Shep got blasted by Harbinger, everything just felt wrong and off. Plus the multitude of plotholes and other points that just plain do not make any sense whatsoever.

Shep can still survive if the player chooses the 'destroy' option? The last time Shep got blown out of a spacecraft by an explosion and experienced a violent re-entry into a planet's atmosphere, he died. And that was with armor on. This time? No armor. No helmet. His grievous wounds make him look like he's been to hell and back. And yet he survives??? Plus there's the general ridiculousness of him running around in space with no helmet on. The anomalies go on and on.

Judging by the sheer awesomeness and seamless writing presented in all but the last part of the game, it is rather hard to believe that this wasn't intentional. Bioware cannot possibly have screwed it up this bad. Okay, there was the DA2 disaster, but I'm assuming they learned from that. Plus, this is the end of a great trilogy, they definitely would've paid more attention. They must have SOMETHING up their sleeves.

Here's hoping...

New True Ending All Along
A few hours ago an anonymous user who leaked the multiplayer DLC
(just an hour earlier) has claimed that the ending fiasco was deliberate
because of the game’s storyline being leaked. They changed it so they
could have more time to prepare the real ending DLC.

It is called “The Truth”, and will be released in April
or May… You will be able to continue your story if you picked any of
the endings. Your decision during the sequence will have a big effect on
the ending of The Truth. Also, The Truth adds two new
sets of enemies, new classes, and multiplayer maps, including “Firebase
Hive”, which is a small area of the last remaining Collector Ship included in the DLC, which, by the way, you should definitely bring Javik the Prothean along if you have them.

The following picture shows some of the leaked multiplayer
classes and races. One race that isn’t shown is the Prothean Adept and
Vanguard. This DLC also, enables the ability for owners of the preorder
and From Ashes DLC to find their DLC weapons in reinforcement packs.

All of that content, and this might as well be labelled an expansion.
And it’s Free!

http://masseffect.wi...LC_Revealed!!!!

Sure it is a rumor, but the multiplayer stuff this guy leaked turned out to be true. Why not this?

I have quite a few reasons for believing this.

1. I trust Bioware. They must have known this ending would ****** off fans. It seems completely plausible that they didn't have enough time to finish the ending which is why they would release it months after.

2. Bioware seems awefully quiet lately. I bet they are actually still WORKING to get the dlc out right as summer hits. This also explains why we haven't seen a patch for all the glitches like the character import issue (which I'm still mad about). They probably have a list of priorities and that ending is on top.

"Hardest. Day. Ever. Seriously, if you people knew all the stuff we are
planning...you'd, we'll - hold onto your copy of me3 forever."

I'm sure lame multiplayer DLC, Galactic Readiness DLC (taking back Omega for example), or an epilogue to show what happened to Earth and the stranded squadmates won't make us want to "hold onto me3 forever". They probably know that too.

3. Too many hints that it is all just hallucination/indoctrination. Bioware is way too good of a company to leave plotholes the size of Texas in the final installment of a trilogy. Sure Dragon Age 2 may have had problems but look at all the other Bioware games. KOTOR, Jade Empire, Dragon Age Origins, Mass Effect 1 + 2, etc. Terrible plothole ridden endings isn't their business style.

The ending where Shepard wakes up under a pile of rubble isn't possible if the ending wasn't a hallucination. Shepard would have been vaporized by the explosion of the citadel. There is no way he could have just landed on Earth unscathed.

4. If by the love of Satan, Bioware actually plans on leaving the ending the way it is and only adds expansions like extra missions to do (Overlord, Firewalker, etc.) then EA will lay the smackdown on them. Already, Bioware/EA is losing money (or not making as much as they could) because the prices are falling, people are trading in the game, and all this bad press is probably stopping people from purchasing the game. Not to mention, any "NON-ending" dlc will probably not be purchased by the majority of the fanbase.

If there is money to be made by making a new ending for fans, EA will be sure to exploit it no matter how much pride/ego Bioware has.

There is no confirmation for any of this. But if you want to be pessimistic and believe that Bioware just destroyed an entire franchise then go ahead.

Me? Well I don't believe Bioware would sacrific their wonderful universe, their fans, and their profits in order to please their ego/pride. That's not how a business like this works.

There's two sides to this story:

Side 1:)
1.) The screenshot attached to this leak had some minor defects that possibly may indicate a photoshop attempt.
2.) The naming conventions for the "new" classes aren't consistent with the others.
3.) Prothean classes would negate the "There's only one Prothean left" plot. However, it is unknown if Multiplayer was designed to be apart of the plot or just a fun gimmick for people who want ME MP.
4.) The leak came out through 4chan, the Internet's troll farm.

Side 2:)
1.) The leak came out through 4chan, the Internet's troll farm. Why is this also on side 2? Because Shadow Broker and Arrival were also leaked months in advance by 4chan.
2.) It would make sense from an artistic perspective to do this (BioWare didn't want the original ending spoiled, which it was, so they developed a fake "ending" to stimulate interest and anger from the fanbase and to ensure that the fans didn't fall into complacency while BioWare worked on the actual "ending" DLC.)
3.) BioWare has unveiled huge hints as to something else coming.
4.) BioWare has an in-house team dedicated to reviewing storylines and plots and wouldn't let the ending through in its current form without knowing something that we don't.
5.) There's a huge amount of evidence in game that the endings are not what they seem to be, be it a hallucination, indoc attempt, or something else.
